A Venezuelan abroad - Introducing Myself or Why i have to leave my country.

in #introduceyourself8 years ago

This is Caracas, Venezuela

I was born there 28 years and 14 days ago and i'm not there anymore.

I live in Caracas most of my life, i study there, i love there.

I'm a Computers Engineer, i don't consider myselft one but that's what my title says.

Venezuela have never been a good country, since the 40 or 50 the political side has fuck it up again and again with no consideration of the people that live in it but since 1998 has gotten worse and worse.

A guy name Hugo becomes president (i'm not gonna post a photo of the guy, is ugly has hell).

With his "socialism" he was gonna change the country.. or that's what he promise back then.

Today we know better.

He spent years building a big goverment machine to control everything and everyone, 4 years later we didn't have access to buy currency, to travel, the big multinacionals couldn't send the revenues abroad, everything start to look worse, he change the constitution for the reelection and change the presidency time from 4 to 6 years.

Of course, he won again.

The oposition start to tell the people that Venezuela was going down but the "people" didn't believe it.

Well, some did.

In 2002, the day of that protest, he was away from goverment for 3 days, the military bring him to power again.

Chavez controls the military and all the public institutions, judges, electoral power, the oil company, electricity company, half of the production of food and goods in the country.

We (The oposition) start to protest, Chavez lose a referendum to change the constitution again.. but he did anyway, links with the Colombian Guerrilla, with drugs Cartel, with the ETA and nobody did nothing.

To wrap it up, the history is long, painful and sometimes boring, Chavez dies in 2013 or 2014 (Nobody knows, he goes to Cuba to treat a cancer and dissapear for more than 4 months).

Between 2002 and 2012 a lot of things happen, he win again, he arm groups of militants in all the cities of the country to suppress the protest and the dissident voices.

He left another guy to succeed him, a guy with no boundries, no studys, not even a real job in all his life.

Today the minimun Wage in Venezuela is 35$ a month, a kilo of milk cost 4$, Venezuela has a inflation of 700% as today (JULY) there are between 300 and 400 violents deaths every month just in Caracas, there's no food, all the company's that produce it are broke or near bankrupcy, there is a price a control that just creates a black market for even toilet papers, there are not international flights because the goverment owes the airlines almost 1 billion dollar, no jobs and no security.

A month ago i get out of Venezuela, i'm in a new country, with security, posibilities and a wage wich can cover all my necesities and a little of saving too.

I left Venezuela because i was rob three times, i throw stones, i fight for my right, i get sick because of the tear gas everyday protesting for my right to be me, to be myself and to have the country that i use to have and that i want for my future childrens.

I'm a Venezuelan to the heart and it destroy me being away from my family, my friends and my memories but i need to do the best for me so i'm here thinking about Venezuela from afar.

But well at least i have my wallpaper.

My Name is Alejandro, thanks for reading, my english is not perfect but i try, thanks again!
