The best of The Unmentionables content (16/10/17) - curated with love.
(Huge thanks to @enchantedspirit for becoming our group curator - be sure to give her a follow and some love!)
Here's another post from @apanamamama on home-schooling her brood. Long before it was fashionable, I was home-schooled until I entered the 7th grade. One huge advantage was ... it taught me how to teach myself. One temporary downside was ... I completed six grade levels in only 5 years, so I was always a year younger than my classmates in public school.
Having seen the miserable results of public school education through the years, home-schooling is exactly what I'd have done if I'd chosen to have kids. As it is, I watch this kind of ambition and its benefits with both nostalgia and admiration. The journey continues.

Here's a Steemit success story that will reignite your own inspiration and nostalgia. A lot of us will recognize @arbitrarykitten's story as ours, and keep on walking, as she did, toward that light at the end of the tunnel.

As her next recommendation to improve and save the world, @hopehuggs writes about the benefits of a gratitude journal. It's a valuable tool for conscious living. Consider starting yours today.

So while @apanamamama reads to the kiddos, her other half, @panamapilgrim builds his own backyard architecture-and-engineering creations. Below is his self-designed classy chicken coop. Kinda makes you envy the birds, huh?

@holbein81 has sobered up enough to write another post reviewing beer. If this is your "cup of tea," so to speak, see if he recommends one you might enjoy. Today's country of choice is Germany.

We close today with pictures from a color challenge. These are from @brentssanders of a Bulgarian church called The Dormition of the Mother of God.

The Marines are looking for a few good men, but we at The Unmentionables are looking for a bunch of good writers, artists and other creative souls on Steemit. If you know you produce good content, and you know it's undervalued, and you really want more exposure to and from other great folks like you, following their passion and doing fine work ... check us out.
The Unmentionables is a fun-and-friendly writing, creating and curating group. We love to see good stuff from ourselves and others who are making a positive contribution to the quality on Steemit. We love to show off what we do ... and support the treasures we've found.
Would you like the chance to see one of your posts featured here? You can join us by filling out a simple form with a few quick questions. Find us here: @unmentionable. Apply to join us here. It's quick. It's easy. And you'll be glad you did. Three of the best reasons I can think of off the top of my head! One of our existing members will have a look at the work on your blog ... or if you know an existing member, get them to vouch for you. (That saves everyone a lot of time!)
Fill out an application if you're interested in joining us. Once again, it's quick. It's easy. Maybe we'll discover we have a new family member and you'll discover you've found a new home. Everybody wins ... 'cause that's what we're about.
The author of this list of curated posts by members of The Unmentionables is @enchantedspirit whose mostly metaphysical writing can be found on her own blog.
Curation on Steemit is a grueling task. Big thumbs up to @enchantedspirit for taking up the task.
I will be visiting your Steemit blog in a bit to see what you are up to.
@ogochukwu
I've seen you hanging around in the non-member section for a while @ogochukwu -- and I was thrilled to see you finally decided to join. Yea! Thanks for liking my homeschool post and my husband's chicken coop post. He worked hard on that coop! :)
I bet he did! It looks like a piece of furniture. Way too good to be left out in the rain.
Lol! Totally true! :)
