ADDING VALUE TO YOURSELF

Adding value to yourself is very important, it brings you out of the ordinary, it singles you out because you have much more than others. You need to realize that expanding your knowledge, makes you stand out from the crowd. I am going to share 2 different true life stories. A colleague of mine worked in the human resource department but he realizes that he had passion for business development executive and then he started building up his skills but helping people manage their company for free, and he discovered that he was able to improve the company, now, he is not doing the job for free anymore but now being paid for it.

Two guys also worked in a manufacturing company, while one was in a particular department, he just sticked there and decided that since that was his major job he would stick to it. His friend on the other hand expanded by the learning the job of the other department and began to earn more than the other guy. By the time the other guy who decided to box himself in a corner realized, he also went back and started learning like the initial guy who decided to add more value, although his money was also much but it was not up to the other guy's own.

What are my trying to point out, Do not box yourself to a corner and say "okay, this is my field, i am going to stick to it" No, learn other things, broaden your horizon, try new things and watch yourself leave the ordinary to the extraordinary.
