The AC was no longer running and there is one more reason for me to sweat is blinking on the screen

"Shiva here" And the cursor moved to the next line...

'Who the hell is Shiva?' I thought to myself. I don't recall knowing any Shiva or in this case a haunting shiva. Or perhaps some old fellow died and his ghost is now trying to communicate with me the seeking redemption. Whatever it is I should get my ass away from here. This is how people die in horror movies. As I gathered the courage to move the pointer to close the application. Ping another message appeared.

"New Joinee in the System Admin".

I was scared out of my mind. I almost lost my cool and cursed the guy on the application which still has the records of the ugly fight between My Manager and the person I am currently assigned to.

"Good for you" I responded.

"I noticed your system is Online at this odd hour. That is why I asked."

I had been staying this late every working day for past couple of weeks now. And now you've "Noticed". I summed all my emotions up in "Too much work".

"Ok, If you don't mind. I need to update the patch please keep the system online for next 20mins and we will be done."

"Can't you do it tomorrow" I tried to escape.

"No, I have to update the application in all the system. No deviation"

And there goes my 40min head start.

After 30 painful minutes of silence. I received the confirmation on the task completion. And without any words I got up and left the office. I was walking down the road without even looking back at the office building. My walk would be so awkward that it was some kinda cross between walking and hopping. Now my the best strategy was to get to the bus stand a 2 kilometers away site than to wait for the Bus to come to the stop. At least, other peoples will be there. There was a strange feeling of someone following me but no one was around. Just a little more and I will reach the bus stand, I thought to myself. Suddenly I heard the someone's scooter slowing down and he parked right in front of me.

"Sir, Where is the PVR cinemas?" The guy asked while sliding the visor of his helmet upward.

"Go straight and take the 3rd right and 2nd left. I am also heading the same way, if you don't mind can you drop me off there" I asked for the lift and thats how I made it to the bus stand. I didn't had to wait for long. Within 10mins the bus came. Now all I have to do is wait in the bus and listen to music for next 30mins and then I am home.

It was a very tiring day for me, First the sleepless night then an entire day in office and the stupid guys scaring the devil out of me, All I wanted to do is sleep. With a loud air horn by a passing truck, I came back to my sense. I almost reached my destination and I realized that I slept throughout the journey. I was happy though I will be getting to my bed in the next 30 minutes or so. As I got down the bus and turned towards my rooms direction. the road felt strange. Why is it today different? I was thinking. Something is wrong, It feels like I am forgetting something. I started walking, thank god it was street lamps were well maintained and the road was well lit. The multiple light sources were casting shadows in a different direction and the walk seems to be getting difficult. I know there are stray dogs around and they will start barking anytime so I shouldn't run or get scared. I know I was alone, but the feeling that someone is following me is not going away. I turned several times to check but no one was there. I was alone on the road. I started walking little faster, It was at that moment I know I wasn't alone. I knew I was being followed from the bus stand but I didn't know who or what and I am most certainly not interested in finding out. I quickened my step and I heard the rustling of the leaves on the side walk... 'There is no wind tonight, This is it. This is how I die' with that thought on my mind, I turned around.

Just to find a Puppy going through something. My heart came down to a normal 'Its a puppy and I am not dead' beating mode, It almost exploded within. 'Enough, I should get to home and get some rest. Nothing else matters.' I got my focus back. And within the next few quick sprints and steps. I was standing at the my doorsteps. i unlocked it using my key. It was dark in the hall. 'Oh shit!!!, I was supposed to get the CFL' .. That is what I was forgetting.

Great!!! Another night in darkness.
"Sorry bro, I will get the lamp tomorrow." I apologized. "Yo!! you asleep?" I asked to silence. Perhaps he is asleep. I pulled the drape of the window. And the light from the street is hitting the hall. 'I can manage in this light. No big deal.'

I was taking a shower, when I heard the phone ringing. I was in no mood to support the backend team, Moreover, even if I wanted to I couldn't there wasn't much energy left in me. I enjoy the shower and changed into my Pajamas. I picked my mobile and went to my room. 'Huh!! 2missed calls & 1 SMS'? It was my roomie. I opened the SMS.

Bro!! Too much work. Gonna stay in the dorm for the night. See ya tomorrow.

I was alone in that creepy dark apartment.
