Hi hi everybody, today I'll show you my first delivery of 12 illustrations set of the mythpunk novel, Ragnarok Conspiracy written by @pibara. This is the project which I'm currently working in cooperation with @pibara for a couple of months now when I won his contest which he made me a work proposal to illustrate his novel. I had to read the story, choose which chapters I would illustrate and make the sketches to be approved by the author. Today I introduce you Bjarne, an university professor with many secrets who appears in the chapter 13.

Step by step

This was the sketch approved by Pibara, using Jan Malmsjö as main reference as the reference models post made by him at my request:

Started to paint his face to do the hardest (in my opinion) first, because colour old man skin take a lot of time if you use a realistic style. The process was too long but worth the hard work :3.

Then I put bases colours on their clothes to divide canvas.

Before start to detail clothes, I wanted to colour the background to "relax" a bit before I work hard on their suits.

I corrected position of his hand and added bases colours. Bjarne's suit is almost ready in this step.

And ready!
I detailed their stylish clothes and then add final lights details that I always do. Also correct the tablet for realism and the other things on the table too ^^.

This experience has been very fruitful to my artistic development and I hope I've shaped that Pibara wrote. It was make an old character with many details on his skin, it was a great challenge.
