The workshop started when @fombae got to the venue, @peacemakers did the introduction of everyone around. He outlines the program for the day, with him given brief details about Steemit. The participants were introduced, and among the participants were those who already had accounts on Steemit and new members who will want to join the platform.

@peacemakers start by talking about the Steemit platform, what the platform is all about. He when ahead of giving a simple example like Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platform. He talks about rewards they can get from posting content, which they have been doing daily for other platforms. He mentions it is not about earning from the post, it is also a means of boosting your writing skills. Old steemians testify how their writing skill has improved from when they join the platform. That aside from the rewards they get for posting. @peacemaker call on @fombae to talk about the history of Steemit and why Steemit has come to stay,

@fombae starts by presenting a short history of Steemit. That Steemit is a DApp (decentralized application) build on the STEEM blockchain, that STEEM is one of the reward assets on the Steemit platform. While the other social media @peacemakers’ mention is centralized, Steemit is a decentralized platform. Steemit was the first social media platform lunch by the company Steemit. Inc in 2016. It's founded by Ned Scott and blockchain developer Dan Larimer. Since 2016, so much has been happening on the Steemit platform with the recent updates, and Tron integration in late 2020. He did not forget to mention the fork in 2020, which was a great challenge to the platform.

@fombae continues that while you can earn the STEEM cryptocurrency, you earn cryptocurrency others like Tron and Steem Back Dollars. @fombae lists out the advantages of blockchain technology from his standpoint that the Steemit platform is here to stay. It was to through more light on the participant who compares the Steemit platform to other network platforms they had joined before, and it crashes. Lastly, @fombae talks about Steem Power and the need for steemians to power up. He talks about huge curation rewards when you hold more Steem, and the more you hole, the more influence you have on the Steemit platform.

A question and Answer session was open,
Do I earn just for Posting?
@fombae answer that you can earn in three ways:
You earn by posting great content which is curated
You can earn by investing in your steep power and curate posts (earn curation rewards)
You can invest by buying Steem and make a gain when the value raises.

What if my resources credit runs out?
@fombae answer you, resource credit reloads after 24 hours, so if anyone gets to find himself or herself in such a situation the wait for 24 hours.

It was after the question and answer, that team Cameroon when ahead to direct the new member on how to create their account. Every one of them had to create from their phones.

Some of them did not have an internet connection, while some had network connectivity problems. By the end, we were able to create accounts for

What a great move and step! 7 newbies just like that! I pray they become consistent in posting good content. It'll be great if contests become more and more competitive. We are getting there. It's a matter of time now
