Steem Women Club Engagement Contest Week 2 | My Plan to Visit Ikogosi Warm Springs (Where Warm and Cold Springs Meet)
Introduction
It's another precious time to put down a piece in the ongoing Steemit Engagement Challenge. For today, I will be attending the contest organized at the Steemwomensclub community that seeks to know about our holiday plans this year. This is a very interesting one and I am going to be very glad to participate in the contest.
That being said, I am a fan of natural resources maybe because we have them in abundance in this part of the world, as such I will like to visit the special Ikogosi warm springs in Nigeria. This is a place where warm and cold water meets, sounds so interesting.

There are a lot of natural relaxation centers in Nigeria, of course, you'd be wowed with the stories behind many of these resources, we were not there when it all happened but some have taken up the challenge to not the heritage waste away, they preserve it, have it documented and it attracts many tourists from different parts of the world.

Ikogosi warm springs is my target for the holiday this year because I want to see another the wonders of nature well preserved. This is a place that is located in the Southwestern part of Nigeria, in Ikogosi, a town in Ekiti state. It is an entirely different spring which has a warm and cold springs meeting at a point. The warm spring at the source under a tree is said to have a temperature of about 70oC and the result after mixing with the cold spring end up to be around 37oC. History has it that nothing of such has been seen anywhere in the world.

The history of the Ikogosi warm springs can be traced back to a great hunter named Awopereige who in those days married two wives, one was troublesome while the other was gentle. It's recorded that one day, both wives engaged in a fight and the hunter was furious such that he rebuked them. The result of the rebuke is that both wives were turned to springs through some diabolical power.
The warm spring is believed to be the hot-tempered wife while the cold spring is believed to be the cold tempered wide. Both springs have different sources. It was in the 1950 when the Baptist convention deem it fit to visit the historical place and hold its youth camp there, that was after several years when the locals of the area have stayed away from the place having feared what could happen to them with the kind of power that brought that place into existence.
Why Do I want to Visit Ikogosi Warm Springs?
In this section, I will be talking about some of the reasons I'd like to visit the Ikogosi warm springs in the coming holidays.
- One can visit the resort anytime but during the festive season when there are a lot of tourists, seems to be the best as I would have the chance to relate with other people from different regions.

- Witnessing the wonderful work of nature with the warm spring and how it meets the cold spring, would be a great one, and the opportunity to swim in a warm pool, that'd be the first time. I guess they have siphoned the warm spring into a swimming pool constructed at the resort.

- The taste of the local food, is another experience entirely. These are the foods I don't come by on normal days, during the holidays at the resort I would have the chance to taste some. Take a look at a delicacy below, that is local delicacy, Ofada rice, stew, and assorted meats.

What would it Cost me to Visit Ikogosi Warm Springs?
- The cost of transportation from my location to the Ikogosi warm springs is 2,500 NGN which is equivalent to 11 STEEM. It's 80 km from my town.
- The gate fee at the resort is 500 NGN which is equivalent to 2.2 STEEM.
- The cost of spending the night in one of the beautiful hotels at the site starts from 12,500 NGN which is equivalent to 54 STEEM.
Being a lover of natural resources, Ikogosi warm springs would be a great place for me to visit this coming holiday. I had visited one of the waterfalls in my state earlier in January and this time, I am taking it to another level outside my town/state. In conclusion, I am glad to be participating in this contest, and as
someone that loves to explore ancient places that have been preserved for many generations to come, I have chosen a rare place on earth where warm spring meets the cold one, what a great work of nature. It's going to be an interesting one to visit that place and I will work towards proper planning to ensure that I achieve the holiday dream. Thanks to the community for this great contest. The ikogosi spring is such an interesting place to visit, i have heard stories about the warm and cold spring, it will be such a great experience to visit such a place for tourism.

Dear friend @fredquantum, I know you are going to achieve your dream for these vacations, God willing, you will travel to the Ikogosi hot springs, without a doubt the tourist seasons are very good to vacation in that paradisiacal paradise.
I have never been in a place like this, where both rivers come together with different temperatures, what's more, I had never heard of it, you were trying to tell us that story.
I have been in rivers with very large stones but many times they are too slippery and I slip, but climbing carefully is possible, your post is very interesting, I wish you much success!
The location is a very good one with many side attractions and I'd love to visit the place in the coming holidays. I understand that waterfalls/springs are often associated with slippery rocks, it happened to me in my last visit to a waterfall but I was very careful to avoid a heavy slip. Your title makes me interested to read this post to the end. In my area, Aceh, there is also a hot spring tourist destination that comes from the mountain. Ie Seu-um in Mata Ie, Aceh Besar.

At first when reading, I was furious to know what exactly does this means before going deep to know the story of the local hunter Awopereige who had to rebuke his two wives for constant fighting each other and this caused them to form this two names as they eventually turned into warm and cold springs
I also see this place is a good touristic site where people from different countries visits for sightseeing during their leisure time.
I'm also furious to know how the warm springs usually meets with the cold springs. It will be an honor to know about it.
Woow I see the cost of transportation from your place to this spring is not that costly and even the gate fee too is not that costly. It's instead the cost of spending the night there that it is a little expensive but it's understood because it is a touristic area which have to be a little expensive. However, It is not too expensive as compared to other hotels which makes the spring hotel a better and reliable place to pay a visit and hopefully if I was opportuned to be in Nigeria, I will love to also pay a visit to this place

Visit Ikogosi Warm Springs is such a wonderful place to be. I never visited there before and I will like to visit considering the existing things I will see when I visit.
