Crypto Madness or the future of Steem

Hello my dear Steemians and Art Fans,

This time another post with some of the general thought what is happening around and what you are my friends are up to.

Crypto Madness

I do not how you but we keep an eye on the Cryptocurrency charts. Many of you might know that few weeks ago, many Crypto went up which is generally very good for those who invested something in them. Interestingly Steem and Hive remained unchanged, which was not really satisfying. Nevertheless we were happy that Steem remained over $0,20, we do not have much ambition now we just happy not to fall back behind Hive.

Last couple of days and especially today it is noticeable change, we can see many Crypto going down

but the Cryptos that belong to Justin Sun: Tron, BitTorent are noticeably rocketed, that snapshot at 10 PM on 03/09/20.

What caused the raise of Tron and co?

When I see that I inevitable wonder if the millions from Power Down of @steemit was used to push up the Tron and his other coins. The liquid Steem was definitely not thrown into the market because the Steem Price remained stable. There is not much gap between Steem and Hive. That only means that the liquid is “parked” on some cryptocurrency exchange platform.

What about Steem and what is its Future?

The only thing that makes me upset about that is : we are expecting that there will be a positive impact on Steem too. But despite of general trend of “Tron and Co” Steem price is fallen to $0,18 the same like Hive price.

When I think about the past I just feel frustrated that we people always think about our own benefits like those guys who decided to split the unique platform Steem and what is now?

a1DSnC00622.jpg

We have three more or less popular platform Steem, the original one, Hive and now Blurt. Of course there were some other projects such as Golos and Weku, but they were not successful.

Why? Because on both Golos and Weku you had to start from Zero. You had no Steem Power and no airdrops.

The magic formula of Hive and Blurt is to clone the Steem Power and grant Airdrops to the users. That means if someone had 10K on one platform he has the same on others.

Once again the rich become richer and that is again confirms that everything is like in our real life.

*

What about you, what do you do? Are you posting exclusively on one platform or on all three?

*

We do not, we decided to stay on Steem, there are few reasons:

  • First Steem is an original Platform, we got used to it, we have our friends.

  • We know that Steem is a part of Justin’s Empire and as other Justin’t Crypto raising we still have at least a little hope that there is some plan for Steem.

  • The second, from beginning on our blog was a content creator blog, I re-started my Art on Steem after so many years, there is a some nostalgia about it. To create a good post is time consuming, choosing topic, creating something interesting, create a special design of post.

  • Many users who blogging on Hive and Blurt saying: “You can just copy and paste the same on other platform and will get the same reward but for one post will get three rewards.”

  • Each post has something special, emotions and thoughts. When copying and paste does not have it. We do not want to be everywhere and nowhere really with our heart. Maybe with time we will change our mind and will not care about the content but not at the moment.

We will keep blogging here and supporting those ones who also like ourselves decided to stay on Steem because of one or another reason. There are not so many of us who stay exclusively on Steem and we hope that someone who cares about Steem will notice those ones and the dedication and will decide to take care of Steem and its users.

I hope you enjoyed my post and thank you for viewing :-)

Dear @stef1,
you speak from my heart and I can only agree with your five criteria without adding anything new.
It almost hurts me to see how people with copy & paste and worse on the copied platforms sell their dignity for a few cents. This has nothing to do with blogging anymore and certainly nothing to do with the original idea of Steem.
I have to admit that I'm a bit frustrated at the moment, too, so I don't feel any motivation for a qualitative design of articles. Still, there is a spark of hope that believes a handful of people who think like us can build something. Of course it is important that Mr. Sun plays along and that he didn't just use his Steem to push.
Yes, we can! ;-)
Warm regards from home,
Christiane

Thank you dear Christiane, once again it is nice to see that we indeed have a lot in common. Sometimes I just like to read the posts, curate and keep going like in the past and forget for a moment about the present and pretend that everything is like before. Maybe like children do.

I can imagine your frustration, finding yourself in this situation that even with all our will and intention difficult to know if that will be heard, seen and appreciated.

It is difficult to predict what the future will bring but I am glad to have you on my side on our journey on Steem.

@stef1

a little hope that there is some plan

Hallo @michelangelo3 ,

LG, @stef1

Guten Morgen lieber Andreas,

Toll, so viel Zuspruch!

LG Chriddi

Guten Morgen liebe Chriddi,

 4 years ago (edited)

Guten Morgen @condeas,

Well @stef1, I am first and foremost a blogger and writer. I happen to very much like the *"social blogging" format, which I participated in a lot back between 1999 and 2007, before there even was such a thing as cryptocurrency.

I have active accounts on all three platforms, but I create unique content for each one — no cross posting. I do this because I see my main purpose as building my personal writing brand.

Although I was part of the original move to Hive, I am still participating on Steem because I believe this place still has what we call "first mover advantage," and I feel pretty certain that if the price of Steem goes up to e.g. $0.50, many of the "sleeping" accounts will come back to life and activity will pick up. I also like the fact that this was "the original" and I put a lot of effort into my blog during the early days.

Agree with you, you are one of the users who started with blogging long ago before Crypto and such reward platform. That gives you a privilege of learning people and communicating rather than to do in order to get rewards.

When people posting using all three platforms expressing themselves that is great, such platform only will flourish from it. What I on other hand do not like when someone posting something on one saying that he created it for Steem or for example for certain contest on Steem but moment later you can see the same post but the user claims that he created it for Hive and do not name the contest that actually he did it for.

I can't understand those people who are not able openly tell on Hive that they are doing something on Steem.

Like you I think if users will see that the price of Steem is going up then they will become active and "jump on that train", the 2sleeping" accounts will wake up and users who posting on Hive may restart posting on Steem too.

No matter how our future looks like Steem is established Crypto, it will not disappear, like those ones who moved on Hive thought. Despite of having majority of community and developers the price of Hive is not better. Splitting the platform people only shoot themselves in their own foot.

We have nothing else than to see what the future will bring. I thank you for your thoughts and was nice to hear your opinion :)

Unfortunately, most of the heart that Steem had has left for Hive. I am impressed with people like yourself who have tried to keep Steem going as a content platform and I stay around because it was my first love of blogging. So, I want to see what happens since Justin's takeover and to be honest that is exactly what it was, a takeover, a centralisation of power and was what I came to Steem to resist.
The art pages which is where I spend my time are a disgrace of vote-trading or buying and I am sorry to say that unless there is some way to combat this abuse Steem will fail but not before the leeches suck it dry. For me, you and those like you may be the only saving grace.
I will continue to post to Hive and Steem but Hive has become what I hoped Steem would be.
I hope this is not too negative a comment but I think you and your community deserve an honest reply.

Hi Daniel, I am glad that you took your time and left your nice comment. Agree with you that many people moved to Hive and of course it was an easy step, because the blogs of users were just duplicated and people were moved by the group of people who made their decision.

Nevertheless, as in real life such people like me and you we can't influence the top witnesses.

I think I understand what you mean with:

image.png

I think that is due to such new accounts like @upvu and @gotogether where you can delegate your Steem Power and they will come to upvote you on daily basis, of course the amount you will get depend on delegation.

Once again it only shows that once people have enough Steem Power they can effort it, it is very tempting for many users, as having high SP and producing a post does not guarantee that you will be rewarded accordingly, some people end up with peanuts. But with delegated SP, you will get daily upvote no matter what you post.

In my eyes, the problem is there are no big Curation accounts who would do fair curation and people get frustrated and do that.

The rest of #Art tag users usually receive not much and there are not many who are using bitbots.

Nevertheless, I am always glad to see your wonderful sand sculptures and would be glad to see you on and off here. Wish you all the best on both Hive and Steem platform, to tell the truth for me we are still one community no matter where we are. Have a nice weekend :)

Yes, what is happening today in the crypto market.
An interesting post from @jayplayco
https://steemit.com/steem/@jayplayco/sun-let-s-get-steem-into-the-sun-mining-pool

Hi @xpilar, I have seen that post and initially was very excited about that and read all the possible links that were in that posts. That evening I prepared this post. What actually made me frustrated is the fact that despite of all JS coins went up but no change of Steem.

Also while surfing and reading around it was no mentioning of in the news about Tron. Is it intention? Is it punishment for splitting the blockchain?

Is there really good future and why @steemitblog keeps silence despite of announcing that the blog is off just for a week and back on 01/09 today is already the 5th of September and we hear nothing.

When looking at the comment chain it is full of users who are asking for Votes!

It is like begging for Upvote.

In the past it was not accepted and the curation trials warned such users, only good contest was upvoted but nowadays it is like we supporting "begging" the posts will be upvoted no matter about the content but they only care that post has 100%SP for payout.

The Steemit Team is overwhelmed with the number of posts and not able to keep up with curation.

That is why in general the idea of Diary Game was not really good, it brought new users but with minimal SP and from developing countries, who will power down in order to get money for their life.

There are bigger amount of users who are blogging and sharing their posts on Steem but do not want to take part in Dairy Game and those ones are ignored by @steemitblog. I believe for those users the Steemit Team have to do their best to try to support and retain them.

Anyway this is just my thoughts, it is weekend so I have more time for such comments. I thank you for stopping by and for your comment :)

Hi @Stef1, I'm torn between which platform to be on as I follow users and have followers on both so I participate in both. I feel most the original community have moved on to Hive and I stay on steemit for the small art community you helped create, it's the original chain and because I still think it has a chance of going somewhere.

I think the recent drop in price is because its heavily correlated to bitcoin's price and I think once bitcoin reaches it's all time high again steem will gain traction however, I'm afraid I agree that the recent increase in Tron price could be what you say it could be.

I'm not sure where Steem will go from here but think the hard work you and others put in gives it a good chance in surviving.

I absolutely understand what you mean and you are right the core of people who were active the time when we were together is moved and remained united over there as before. I am glad for those artists who still have their curation trials: Curie, OCD, Curangel, Isaria who support those artists and keep the platform at live.

I can only encourage to use both platforms if you feel you like. We are here for blogging for sharing Art and for me Art has no borders. I will not blame anyone for doing so. In my opinion if that makes you happy and you can have chats with your friends that is the main aim of the blockchains with a little benefits on our two platform is to get some rewards for your posts.

Have a nice weekend in case I do not hear from you till then :)

I agree with what you say, you have a nice weekend too :)
