Unforgettable Trip #27 | Hirikatu (Oya River) | Secret Gem in Belihul Oya

How are you all doing? Wishing you good health. Last week I posted about one of my waterfall-hunting stories. So today I'm going to talk about a small but beautiful river. That is Hirikatu Oya river. It's located near my university so we go there usually when we are free. Ok let's move to the story,

Hirakatu Oya is a place full of natural beauty. It is a place where you can come and spend your free time with your family and friends. After passing through Ratnapura, you have to come to Belihul Oya via Pelmadulla and go to Hirakatu Oya. Hirikatu Oya also called as Hirigandu Oya & Kiriketi Oya

There are a lot of tourist attractions near Hirikatu Oya & I have already written about several places. These tourist attractions are,

• Kuragala Temple
• Surathali Falls
• Doovili Falls
• Uggal Aluth Nuwara Katharagama Temple
• Adisham Bungalow
• Nonperial Estate

Those places can reach within one hour from Hirikatu Oya.

You can find comfortable accommodation near Hirikatu Oya because Hirikatu Oya is located on Belihul Oya, a famous tourist destination in Sri Lanka.

Many visitors come here to take a dip in the naturally occurring pool. The water is crystal clear and immaculate. The lovely trees that line both banks of the river enhance its charm. Rain causes the water level to rise, so use caution. Be there before midday because the river is directly exposed to the sun from 9 am to 2 pm and the water is quite chilly.
