함께 살아가는 숲의 선물
산길 산책로를 걷다 보면 발밑에 불쑥 튀어나오는 작은 선물, 도토리와 상수리가 눈길을 끌어요.
하나는 깊은 밤처럼 그윽한 갈색으로, 또 하나는 아직 여름의 숨결을 간직한 연둣빛으로 빛나고 있네요.
이 작은 열매들이야말로 다람쥐와 새들에게는 겨울을 나는 밥상이고, 숲에게는 내년의 숲을 잇는 씨앗이지요.
손에 올려놓고 보니 마치 두 개의 계절을 동시에 쥔 듯한 기분이 들어요. 그래서 저는 다시 산속으로 던져줬답니다. 혼자가 아니라, 함께 살아가기 위해서요. 작은 배려가 숲의 숨결을 이어주는 다리 같다는 생각이 들어 뿌듯하네요.
