What Does It Mean To Be A Spiritual Person?

Hello everyone, @josediccus here, so i saw this question on The New SpiritWeb Community and therefore I decided to dive in and share my knowledge on a wonderful experience. First, to me I'll like to say A Spiritual Person or being spiritual is being aware of the metaphysical, reckoning with the extraterrestrial and also understanding that life transcends beyond or above the things we can see, the things we can feel and the things we can also observe around us. However from my experience I have come to terms with the fact that being spiritual is a personal thing, it is a process of thoroughly connecting with a higher being (a creator) and maintaining a closer relationship which also leads to a reflection through your personal and moral life and also through an identity with people have come to recognise you by.

It is no longer news that being religious isn't being spiritual because being spiritual is a much more complex process of realizing, discovering and being in contact with something farthest from what we know. A whole lot of people are either practicing Christianity, Buddhism or even islamism because they consider it as a part of a social cultural practice of that necessitates life however going furtherest away from that this; I do believe that sometimes religion can be an awakening to unlocking a spiritual awareness but this is not always true but seldom true. Being spiritual makes us more inclined to things that might generally not pertain so much to this life we are living. For example some people do not really give too much meaning to the life of luxury like buying expensive cars, wearing expensive diamonds but they pay more attention to reading books that might divulge a lot about things like reincarnation, life-after-death, spiritism, ascension including heaven and hell. And through this knowledge they are able to make holistic decisions and place a perceptible believe about what is right and what is wrong.

As for me being spiritual is 70% a state of being aware and 30% state of being inclined to act and to believe in things which other people might not believe in for example an atheist isn't spiritual simply because they do not believe in something external, extraordinary or even superfluous beyond the life we are currently living The difference between them and someone who is spiritual is that someone who is spiritual believes there is a multi-versal spiritual being sovereign and sacrosanct of whom they should be loyal, revere and genuflect to. Apart from this, a recognition of God is also an aspect of intellectual spiritualism and thorough awareness. In continuation someone who is spiritual is communal, he or she is someone who relates with the community of which they live in. He or she forms values like selflessness, obedience, cooperation, hardwork, long suffering, love, patience hope, faith, tolerance and so many others and why is this?

Being a spiritual person means some egotistic part of you actually dies. A Spiritual Person has respect for animal, their fellow humans and to the Mother earth which has actually become an abode right from the time of human existence. one more unique thing about a spiritual person is the fact that they are not just Spiritually aware but they also become aware to most things that people actually ignore for example when you consider the issue of climate change and the lack of respect that humans actually show towards nature and our nature home (earth) living in peace and living in harmony is what a spiritual person thrives to actualize. All in all, a spiritual person is an all round person, however we must not forget the fact that perfection is far away from spirituality and people who are spiritual strives to attend a level of near perfection through which they can continue maintaining a cordial and sanctimonious or pious relationship with human and the relationship with their creator. Thanks a whole lot for reading

lovely little post! very nice.. YES, lets keep that EGO in check.. that is what divides and disconnects us! And welcome to the SpiritWeb Community!!

Thanks for welcoming me, I hoped to make a grand entry with this. In essence I have experienced a lot about being spiritual and I felt on my own unique way, that my experience might count.

oh they certainly count! you might be surprised how many people you speak for.. Deep down we are quite similar, and when on the spiritual path we can find many feelings and experiences in common.

I really like that 30% being prepared to act on that still, small voice. Yes. That and sidestepping the ego.

A really lovely post.

Exactly that 30% quite a small percentage but yet the will to act is there. Thanks a million for the comment

Buddhists are atheists- there is no god but for most Buddhists it is a spiritual practice 🙏🏽
