Steemit Engagement Challenge S11/W1 - Perhaps if man had not invented fire, what would this earth have looked like?
Hello dear Steemians,
Today I wanted to draw your attention to this challenge that is hosted by Hindwhale Community and here is the link where you can find the details:
We all know that fire is something that we human need to live and survive in wildness, it is one of the essentials that we can not imagine our life today without Fire. Let's then think about the benefits and danger of fire.
Perhaps if man had not invented fire, what would this earth have looked like? |

When I read the name of challenge, first I did think much about the depth of the meaning, but then when going back into the History stone age and so I then thought actually Fire is a natural phenomenon that is there even without human. That only means it was existing long before us on this Earth.
In the time of early existence of Earth due to meteorites that were falling on Earth penetrating atmosphere and burning, that was the first fire that came to our planet.
Being a natural phenomenon we see Fire everywhere:
- Eruption of volcanoes throwing burning fire out and melt lava that is flowing and burning everything around
- Lightening striking the trees and causing the fire, that could have happened many times in very early days of our Earth
- Too hot summers when the woods catch fire
I think without human our Earth would go the same evolution pathway like it does
The other question is what we have done since we know how to get fire and how we use Fire in our life?

- To keep us warm in cold weather:
We all use fire to keep our homes warm, some of us have a wood burner and can use simple old fashion wood or coal. The others living in big cities use central heating system, that is run by power stations
-To prevent infection:
*Since we found how to get fire, we started to boil water that is preventing for example many infections that could live in water and only after boiling to 100C many of them are killed.
- To prepare food:
We all know that meat is best when it is cooked or maybe grilled on open fire, nobody eats raw meat, it is not healthy but also it does not taste. We love our hot drinks, who goes to work without hot cuppa and nice hot lunch.
- Feeling cosy:
In modern days, we love to return from work in cold winter days and make fire in wood burner in front of our sofa, just watching dancing fire and dream about something on long dark winter days.
- Safe to handle
In order to handle fire safely there are many fireplaces with closed wood burner, so you do not have direct contact, but also we have CO/ CO2 detector in the room next to fire burner, in the case of there is a door is not closed properly or any break of the system.
Of course, we should not leave the matches and lighter in the reach of children.
People should not smoke in bed which is again very clear for many adults.

When we were children we had time to time cut off electricity, I hate darkness and when our parents lighten up the candles that was my favourite place to be, at the table with candles and look at dancing fire.
I loved the shadows on walls that were there because of light of fire and also like every child we created different creatures with our hands to make scary shadows.
Fire is accompanying us during our whole life and it is a friend. But we still should not forget that Fire is a disaster that is not possible to control, that is can erase the villages, cities and of course forests when it s hot weather and such wild fire, we also should not forget natural disaster like volcanoes. The technology is very much developed but we are nothing in front of natural disaster, so we have to respect and handle Fire with care.

My dear friend you have given a very good explanation. All the things you have mentioned in the history are really thought provoking and we can use fire for many things like cooking food, sheltering us in cold weather. Keeping the environment warm Similarly we use fire for many other functions.

Your presentation on the origin of fire and the benefits and harms of fire is truly appreciated. Food is the most important among the basic needs of humans and we cook almost all our daily food in the heat of fire so fire is very important for us. I appreciate your periodic presentation.
Thank you @mdkamran99 for reading my post and liking it. I believe because we all use fire on daily basis that was also one of the easy topic for the challenge and for many to take part in it.
Like you said, the evolutionary trajectory of the planet’s biosphere would have probably been the same without humans. But if we did not have the intellectual capacity to wield fire (understanding chemical reactions)…it may not have caused our extinction, but we would probably be much lower on the food chain :)
Yes, it was a good luck for human, everything that happened and that it turned out this way, who know how it would be if something went different way.
