Hello my dear Steemians,

It was very tough year for us, we had a lot of work to do @myskye was working hard to completely renewing our Living room every single stuff needed to be re-done, starting from wallpapers, colour of ceiling, stripping off colours from wood of windows, that were white. But also the whole flooring with replacing almost half of timber, but then treating it bringing the colour close to the original wood.

The other challenge was Fireplace. The old fireplace that our previous owner had was a little horrible coal one and they completely closed the original fireplace.

That is why we needed remove the wall and discover the original Edwardian Fireplace. Of course we said yes, we will restore it:

Of course the whole process of working on sand stone restoration took many moths, because @myksye is not a builder and never had anything to do with stonework and fireplaces. Luckily there are online materials but also youtube both are brilliant for DIY for those who really love handwork and keen to create something themselves :)

Now you can see many small pieces of sandstone that we have collected and from those once qmyskye created the wall of fireplace on both sides.

Now it is more or less ready and looks absolutely amazing! By hte way you can see timber and that it is now the time to work on timber flooring.

After many months of work yesterday our new wood burner stove arrived and pipe was lined up through chimney so that we were able to use finally our stove and also our room is ready for us to move in.

I know how much work it is to restore, do not think everyone knows how long it takes.
You've done a great job, and it's beautiful to see the room now

Thank you @xpilar by now we have moved everything for living room feeling still strange but good :)

That looks awesome - but also like hard work!

I love the ceiling lamp btw! :D

Thank you, hard wood is great, it is noticeable when on some area we had to use pine. But Oak is much more expensive. I love the ceiling lamp too. Thank for your comment :)

Hard work but a great result! You must be proud.

Thank you Jorge, we definitely proud of work that was done and of course satisfied. We hope on later stage if we need to sale then we could ask for good price too now with all this restoring work :)

You have worked hard and got a great result!

Yes, we are happy to have this on its end, but there are many more rooms :)

How much patience must be had to finish decorating and restoring the house, the days are long and you already want to see everything as you imagine it, that fireplace gives a rustic and elegant and modern look at the same time, I loved to enjoy it!

Thank you for your nice feedback, we are glad to hear it, we are really enjoying our fireplace :)

How wonderful! The living room looks very warm with the new wood burning stove and very spacious. What a releaf to get past the construction stage. I´m wanting to reach that point myself. Patience!

Thank you Romanie for your nice words, this room is really turned into completely different place, nothing reminding the old version of the living room that was before. We are so happy to reach such result hope to move to our next room (there are many rooms that we want to turn into what we want to have :)

Looks very cosy! Super job...

Sieht sehr gemütlich aus! Super gelungen...

Thank you and glad you like the final result :)

Myskye has done a great job, it looks lovely now. That log burner should save you some money now energy prices have gone up and due to go up again before next year.

Yes that was our thought too, especially with this crazy charges for Gas, our bill definitely doubled. It is time to think about solar panels.

What a great result :)) Although the idea of restoring the fireplace is a long and tiring job, it is a magnificent idea when I see the result :) The look of the fireplace under renovation is like a scene from a horror movie :D It is a great success that it does not discourage you at this stage :)
Although myksye has no experience with fireplaces, has done a great job by researching and efforting. I love the stove with glass, and I'm considering getting one like this too.
By the way, you all created a very elegant and warm look with the colors of the wall and ceiling. Let it be a living room where you collect good memories :)

Thank you @serap for your lovely comment, when we first time found that the original one behind and still not really completely demolished we immediately decided that we will restore it. It is beautiful old house and it is a shame to lose the features of that time. Of course while in the middle of the work, I also had an impression of such a horror and was not able to imagine how it will be looking like but I think creativity and optimism are very important in such situation.

I love the colours too, it is funny for me it is always difficult to decide about colours I love many different but because of wood we decided to go for such warm red and brown one :)

I totally agree with you that there are very few things creativity and optimism can't handle :)

I love seeing the evolution of the place, it really looks very beautiful and warm, it makes me want to have a hot coffee in front of the fireplace. I congratulate you for the hard work you both did, thousands of successes and enjoy!

When we started with this work, we immediately decided to do photos of every stage, it is also for us good to look back and to see how it was looking and now the transformation.Really satisfying feeling :) Once we have sofa there, then definitely, will have long evening in front of fire :)
