Hello Everyone,

How are you? Hope you keep well. I'm a little bit busy these days because of an examination at university. So first of all I would like to thank @juichi for verifying my Achievement 2 post. In Achievement 2 I learned about Steemit security system and how to protect my keys. So today I'm going to do my Achievement 3. In this post, I will talk about Content Etiquette. So Let's move to the article,

I hope to talk about sevaral main topics. They are,

  • Brain Concept
  • What is Plagiarism?
  • Type of Plagiarism
  • How to avoid plagiarism?

Brain Concept

"Steem provides a scalable blockchain protocol for publicly accessible and immutable content, along with a fast and fee-less digital token (called STEEM) which enables people to earn the currency by using their brain (what can be called “Proof-of-Brain”)
Since the Steem Blockchain rewards your post by producing original content that is from your brain, you are recommended to give citation or source to any of your content that consists of others' works."

What is Plagiarism?

If you are presenting someone else's work, article, or anything without his permission, It is plagiarism. It could be an article found on Google or a paragraph from a book. article from the newspaper.

Type of Plagiarism

There are several types of plagiarism. They are,

  1. Direct plagiarism
  2. Direct plagiarism means copying someone's work word-by-word without his or her permission. This is the most common plagiarism type.
  3. Self plagiarism
  4. If you use your previous work or article again as a new project without mentioning that is the Self plagiarism.
  5. Mosaic plagiarism
  6. "Mosaic Plagiarism occurs when a student borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks or finds synonyms for the author’s language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original. Sometimes called “patchwriting,” this kind of paraphrasing, whether intentional or not, is academically dishonest and punishable – even if you footnote your source!" Source
  7. Accidental plagiarism
  8. There are several forms of Accidental Plagiarism.
    • Misquotes your sources.
    • Neglect to cite your sources.
    • phrases a source by using similar words.

How to avoid plagiarism?

There are several ways to avoid plagiarism. The main one is giving credit to the owner. You can write a paragraph or copy things under the brackets ("") and add a link to the source. for example I did it in this post under the "Braing Concept" and "Mosaic plagiarism" topics. The second one gets only ideas from others' article, post, or work but don't depend on their works.

I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
