{ Achievement 3 - @fendit } - Content Etiquette 💬

in Newcomers' Community4 years ago

When it comes to posting content, whether it is text or multimedia, we should all bare in mind what we're saying and where our ideas come from. I bet all of us, in some point of our life, made great effort to write an essay or take a picture we're really proud of, so after giving it your best... how would you feel if someone else took credit for it?

Plagiarism is under no circumstances welcome anywhere. It can be understood as a lack of ideas, knowledge, skills or just the simple act of stealing from someone else their work. It's a fraud against someone else's content. It's become such serious problem in the last years that now you can find many sites on the Internet that check if there's some sort of plagiarism in a text paragraph or if a picture was taken from some other place.

Rather than taking the time to find a piece of work that you like, it's much better to develop your own ideas and to challenge your brain to think.

Without a shadow of doubt, one of the things I found really interesting about Steemit is having the chance of creating a blog and doing it your own way. You're able to develop your own ideas and talk about whatever you want, don't screw it by stealing someone else's work.

To sum up, here are some ideas I found on plagiarism that I'd like to share with you:

Most cases of plagiarism can be avoided, however, by citing sources. Simply acknowledging that certain material has been borrowed and providing your audience with the information necessary to find that source is usually enough to prevent plagiarism.Source

Plagiarism is defined as the practice of directly copying and then presenting an existing production without accurate citing or referencing, and/or passing off the product as one’s own, without permission from the original producer. Plagiarism is the most frequent offence under the Academic Code of Conduct, as a result of a lack of proper acknowledgement. By understanding the plagiarism meaning and being able to identify the plagiarism definition, you can be confident that you will avoid the consequences.Source
