This achievement task focuses on a frankly sensitive topic as far as compositions posted on Steemit is concerned. Basically, plagiarism is the act of copying part or whole of someone’s composition and framing it as yours without siting the original composer. In other words, plagiarism can be referred to as copying a text that do not belong to you word for word without recognition to its natural writer. As much as Steemit frowns on plagiarism and condone with originality of one’s write up, it is much prudent to rightly add disclaimer where necessary in other not put one credibility and integrity on the line.

There are a number of types of plagiarism viz;

⚫️Self Plagiarism

⚫️Direct Plagiarism

⚫️Plagiarism Remix

⚫️Unconditional Plagiarism

Self plagiarism
This is the type of plagiarism that one uses same content idea repeatedly. It is often attributed to mere laziness since the individual lacks basic research skills that would help elaborate on that specific topic.

Direct plagiarism
This on the other hand is what can be referred to as copy and paste! In this case, the copier fails to compose on his or her own and thus resort to copying verbatim another person’s ideas without any slightest alterations. It is rather a very lazy thing one can do!

Plagiarism remix
Even though a smart way of copying someone’s idea, it discredits one write up by all standards. He or she copies selected components of someone else’s idea and adds it to their already composed idea.

Unconditional plagiarism
This can be contributed to mere forgetfulness of failure to add the source of an attached document or name of the author of it. It may be caused by distraction but then leads to the write up being tagged as plagiarized!

How one can avoid plagiarism!!!
One major way to avert plagiarism is to resort to personal creativity. In so far as one rely on his or her original idea, plagiarism is vehemently avoided. Not only does the originality of one’s idea be hailed skipping plagiarism but also appreciating the source and name of an author is much a reverence.

Block Quotation
One of the important ways to avoid plagiarism is to indicate quotes to an idea or opinion that does not belong to you. It implies coping verbatim but indicating that the originality is not yours.
An example is;

Information technology is important in our live because it helps to deal with everyday’s dynamic things. Technology offers various tool to boost development and to exchange information. Both these things are the objectives of IT to make tasks easier and to solve any problems.

Having read, researched and understood the concept plagiarism and all its types; a content etiquette on Steemit, I entreat all and sandry to imbibe and incorporate it in their write ups!
