Profession I would be in now if my childhood dream came true - Airhostess
After a long time, I am taking part in a contest. I like this question; it brings back some childhood memories to me. As children we all have some fantasies, wishes, dreams and we want to achieve them.
For me, right from childhood I always got fascinated when I would read of different places and it was my dream to travel the world. I was in love with Airplanes and whenever I would see it flying above, I would jump with joy. In my family one of my aunts was an airhostess and she would always talk about her flying experiences. That would make me very happy and I had decided that when I will grow up I will become an Airhostess. Before that I wanted to become a Teacher, because my mother was a teacher, but that one faded out very soon when I got aware of this whole flying experience of the job of an airhostess. In those days Air India airhostesses would wear a Saree. Whenever we used to play, I would drape a dupatta like a saree, make my friends sit in a line and then I would pretend to serve them like an airhostess.
Sadly, my dream did not come true. I got married very early, by the age of 21, just after I finished my graduation. The requirement of the job was to be single status and that was the major disqualification for me. I would feel very sad thinking of it. Though there were many good things around, but this would keep playing on my mind. I went to the extent of that even when I was aware that I could not get this job I went in for a Cabin crew training program. It did not lead anywhere, but it just made me happy. To be closer to my dream I then took up a ground job with Swiss Airlines and in my job, I had to keep travelling to Zurich often. That was the closest I could get and was happy with it. In my growing up Switzerland was always my dream destination, so while my airhostess dream did not come true, my dream of travelling to Switzerland did come true. I worked there for 8 years and I travelled around 12 times. After that I also made my own personal visits and next month I am planning to travel there again, which will be my 15th time to Swiss.
It's not always possible to fulfill all our desires. We do not know what life has in store for us, and sometimes it can be for our own good. I do miss being an Airhostess but at the same time sometimes I feel that I did much better jobs in my life that gave me good status and position. As I mentioned I wanted to become a Teacher at some point of time. I did not become a Teacher but I did become a Trainer in my job where I did the same thing which was teaching and that also gave me lot of happiness and satisfaction.
I will like to invite @dobartim @gungho and @hansangyou to participate in the contest.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
Thank you for participating in the contest.
Hello ma'am how are you? I met you after a long time, about three months ago I used to comment on you regularly, I suddenly lost you, anyway, after so long, it was nice to read this post.
I also felt a bit bad for your dream not being fulfilled, as you got married at 21, so you couldn't fulfill this dream, but it was understood that your childhood dream was messy, unorganized, anyway, it's good to read your organized post. Stay well, see you again inshallah
Good luck to you
Hello @memamun, yes, it's been a long time. Hope all is well at your end.
I believe that whatever happens it's for good. God always has a better plan for you then what you make for yourself.
Have a good day!
In our subcontinent, we girls can no longer pursue professions as we wish after marriage. Our family does not support us also. Still, it's good to know you're getting closer to your dreams.

That's sad to learn. Well, I did not have any family challenges. For me it was the job criteria that did not go well. Anyways I am happy with whatever later happened.
