Monthly Report for August 2021 - CR @fendit

This are the highlights of my contributions to Steemit platform and what I've been working on during this past month. I've been working incredibly hard these time to be up to date with all my duties in here and what we expect to achieve for both Writing & Reviews and Steem Argentina communities.

The highlights of my work are:

  • Writing & Reviews community
  • Steem Argentina
  • Curation with Steemcurator05
  • Other posts and voting index

Writing & Reviews Community

Growth

I beleive this community need no introduction. Our work here has been consistent, our users are loyal to us and we couldn't be more happy about it.

Ever since we created this community with @belenguerra, we have been really successful, we kept coming up with new ideas to make users engage more and share good quality content. By now, we keep on growing at a very fast pace of more or less 150/200 users per week.

At the beginning of August, we had 6,190 subscribers. By now, we have almost 6,773. This means that we have 583 new users and almost a 10% increase regarding the beginning of the month. This huge increase in subscribers can be explained by how welcome and comfortable our writers feel and all the hard work we've been doing with @belenguerra.

Changes in the Team

For the first time, we looked for a moderator to join our team in Writing & Reviews. We didn't ask for applications, as we wanted to focus on the performance that some users were having and now we're really happy to welcome @soldieroffantasy into our family! He has been really well received and other users were really pleased to see him join the team!

As days go by, we feel that our goal of being one of the largest and best communities Steemit has is more achievable! :)

Promoted Posts

It's sometimes discouraging not being able to provide with more support to all those who share their creative content with us and to see that always the same people get supported.

As a general thing, every week we either choose the Top Picks and the posts for the Communities Support Program. My reports on this can be found in here:

As I was saying before, it's been some time that our chosen posts for the Top Picks are not supported and users have complaint about that. The thing is that there's nothing we can do.

We face this kind of situations and, despite the fact that we have taken into account all Steemit Team's suggestions on our performance, we receive no support or visits as other communities do have. Could you please let us know why this is?

We're also promoting The Diary Game. By this, we're encouraging users to participate in this game and we will choose and give priority to these posts when choosing which entries will be part of the Communities Support Program.

User Verification

As well as that, and since we're planning on growing as much as we can, we asked for some feedback on how we can improve this community. As a result, we launched the user verification so that we're sure that no fake accounts are participating here. So far, in these time that this has been launched, we verified almost 240 users.

Forth report on our user verification:

Delegations Program

As well as that, our Delegation Program is still up and running, and has had a great acceptance. We have increased the number of votes that we've given from the community account.

This past week we did our first rewards distribution to all those who contributed to Writing & Reviews by delegation. This made us increase the amount of delegated SP as users felt encouraged to do it and support us!

Fight against Plagiarism

We have had a number of plagiarized posts lately, so we've endured our fight against all this type of actions.

Our protocol against plagiarism is simple and easy:
Every post gets checked. What happens if we find someone stealing content?

  • First warning: We mute that post and we let the user know that we won't tolerate that kind of attitudes. We keep score of these users and, if they have already their user verified, we also warn them that they will get their tag removed if that happens again.

  • Second warning: This is the final warning. We give no other opportunity to those who choose to perform this kind of actions over and over again. We mute the post and leave a comment, in which we specify that it's the second time we found these immoral activities and that we will no longer support their posts. Also, we put a "Bad Habits ❌" tag, so that it shows that the user has been performing poorly in our community.

This is the first report of offenders:

Contests

When it comes to contests, we run one weekly and we're planning on increasing this number to two per week. These ones are being held in the community account and per contest we have up to 100 participants. We have started again with the second contest and it seems to have great acceptance.

These are the contests that I managed this month:

Application for the Communities Support Program

I was in charge of creating the application for September's Communities Support Program. I really hope that this time we're lucky enough to be chosen, as we want to encourage our users as much as we can and in the way they deserve to be supported!

Curation with @writingnreviews

We also use our Community account to support and vote our fellow writers. We check that there's no plagiarism involved and we try to support and encourage everyone to keep performing their best at our community. Here's the voting index for Writing & Reviews community account.

Steem Argentina

As well as in Writing & Reviews, I voted as many users as I could to encourage them posting there. We have finally achieved the 550 subscribers bareer and we're keeping the community active.

Also, I've been browsing different tags related to Argentina to check if there's any argentinian that might want to join but doesn't know about the community so far!

Every week, a contest is being held so that users are welcome to take part in this community as well, whether they're from Argentina or no. These are the contest I've held this month:

We have started to update the current status of all argentinian users in the platform. Here are my reports for that:

Curation with Steemcurator05

I'm part of the team that curates The Diary Game posts with steemcurator05. We are now in charge of voting one day per week for each CR and we aim to reach from 40 users per day, voting up to 25% per user. We believe this is a great way to keep users motivated and to engage with the platform, specially for those who have been dormant for quite some time or that are not that aware of all the game we have here in Steemit. You can check out my curation report here:

Other posts and voting index

Here are other posts that I've done this past month to keep my presence active in the platform. It's not just about reports, but also my attempt to provide quality content. I get the feeling that sometimes written posts don't get supported as much as they should just beucase they don't include hundreds of pictures. It's a shame, since writing takes a lot more time than just pasting links...

As I've said, I've been trying to vote and support as many users as I could in these three communities and the users I follow. I try to vote until my VP reaches 85% and I try to use it as much as I can before it reaches 100% again. For example:

Thank you @steemcurator01 and @steemitblog for this opportunity, I really enjoy helping the Steemit community grow :)
