Analysis of Contests: Report #02
This report is a follow-up analysis of the competition held from January 30th to February 5th. It appears that there has been a slight increase in participation across all events. Your feedback is highly valued and will help to improve this report.
The platform is experiencing a surge in contest participation & organizers, with an average of 100 active participants daily. Despite this success, certain contests remain challenged in attracting significant participation.
To gain a clearer understanding of contest engagement, I’m introducing a new initiative that provides a comprehensive overview of contest participation, focusing particularly on the impact of new contests with novel themes on overall contest participation. Let us take a closer look at the data from the previous week.

◼️ Across all communities, a total of 502 participations were recorded for week 04. Compared to the previous week, we can notice slight increase in participation for the fourth week.
30th JANUARY STATS
On January 30th (Monday), a total of 21 contests reached their expiration date. Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded in a writing contests, with a total of 15 contenders. On the other hand, the contest with the least number of participants only had 1 contenders. On the whole, there were 139 entries recorded on January 30th, resulting in an average of 7 entries per contest.

31st JANUARY STATS
On January 31st (Tuesday), a total of 10 contests reached their expiration date. Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded in a writing contest, with a total of impressive 23 contenders. On the other hand, the contests with the least number of participants only had 1 contenders. On the whole, there were 110 entries recorded on January 31st, resulting in an average of 11 entries per contest.

On February 01st (Wednesday), a total of 10 contests reached their expiration date. Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded in a Photography contest, with a total of 17 contenders. Again we have a contest with 01 contender. On the whole, there were 95 entries recorded on February 01st, resulting in an average of 10 entries per contest.

03rd FEBRUARY STATS
On February 03rd (Friday), a total of 06 contests reached their expiration date. Once again the highest number of participants were recorded in a photography contest, with a total of cracking 28 contenders. Opinion News who had the least participant decided to stop the contest from this week onward. On the whole, there were 77 entries recorded on February 03rd, resulting in an average of 13 entries per contest.

On February 04th (Saturday), a total of 09 contests reached their expiration date. Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded in a photography contest, with a total of 19 contenders. On the other hand, the contest with the least number of participants only had 01 contender. On the whole, there were 62 entries recorded on February 04th, resulting in an average of 07 entries per contest.

05th FEBRUARY STATS
On February 05th (Sunday), a total of 14 contests reached their expiration date. Again we have the highest number of participants for the photography contest, with a total of 28 contenders. For the first time we got a contest without any participants which is related to sports. On the whole, there were 127 entries recorded on February 05th, resulting in an average of 09 entries per contest.

SUMMARY
Note: The below stats do not include the Steemit Engagement Challenge data.
A total of 80 contests reached the deadline by 05th February .
During the week, there were a total of 717 contest submissions which is 12.86% increase from the previous week.
The average number of entries per contest for this week is 09. That's also increased to previous week 08.
The photography category has the highest level of participation among all the contests again.
I hope contest organizers, curation teams & Steemit team find this information helpful in getting a better idea of contests and the overall environment. And for the organizers, if a certain idea isn't quite hitting the mark, there's always the opportunity to come up with something new and exciting!

I will for sure recommend that you at least put it to the test a little longer.
What I would like to see is the stats for communities outside the engagement challenge. Maybe top 5 communities for hosting contests
