STEEM POD Open Discussion Vol.01: Why Dormant account on Steemit?
This post is my response to @rashid001 post here on his personal opinion of Why Steemit Users become dormant and
Also to post by @hassanabid here on Suggestions from all Country Representatives are required
This is my personal view and possible solutions based on the information that I have gathered from the weekly report of the Country Representatives of the Indian subcontinent region, my discussion with the Country Representative of Sri Lanka @randulakoralage, and the data of the Newcomers Achievement Program from The Steem Greeters Team. I'm doing my analysis and present the possible solutions based on the information that I have gathered so far, so I might be wrong as I could not get any other useful additional information that I need to know from other parties that involve in this issue.
I will use the case of Bangladesh users here since I have been wondering why the increasing number of dormant newcomers users from Bangladesh. My previous assumptions were, due to farming rewards on Achievement 1 of Newcomers Achievement Program.
Possible factors in increasing numbers of dormant users from Bangladesh.
According to @randulakoralage the curation method that they are using with @steemcurator07 is they allocate time slot of 1 day for Country Curator using the @steemcurator07 at 12am on a particular day fully recharge at 100% voting power.
This curator will stop curating when the indicator at https://steemworld.org/@steemcurator07 showing recharge VP 100% at 12.00am the next day and so on.
For example on Monday,@tarpan will use the @steemcurator07 fully recharge 100%VP to curate Bangladesh users and stop voting when the indicators showing 100%VP fully recharge at 12 am the next Tuesday and passed on the curation to the next curator of other Country Curator for the Indian subcontinent region.
Currently these are the Country Representatives that have access to posting key of @steemcurator07 and curating users from their country using this Regional Community Curator Account:
India
@sapwood @neerajkr03 @rishabh99946
Bangladesh
@tarpan @toufiq777
Sri Lanka
@randulakoralage
Pakistan
@rashid001
**note that they not include Country Representatives @rex-sumon(Bangladesh) and @besticofinder(Sri Lanka) an access to posting key of @steemcurator07 as according to @randulakoralage they are not needed as they only need 7 curators for 7 days..
They have allocated 3 days for curating the users from India , 2 days for users from Bangladesh , 1 day for users from Pakistan and 1 day for users from Sri Lanka.
According to Newcomers Achievement Program spreadsheet, currently, there are
India,Pakistan,Sri Lanka spreadsheet
69 registered newcomers from India
134 registered newcomers from Bangladesh
18 registered newcomers from Sri Lanka
9 registered newcomers from Pakistan
and I think something is wrong with the allocation of the curation for this regional curation,
Bangladesh registered newcomers have over 134 newcomers on the table and half of it active 67 users but only allocated 2 days to curate with the @steemcurator07
whereas India with registered newcomers of 69 users and 38 actives users allocated 3 days to curate with the @steemcurator07
Sri Lanka has 18 users and 9 actives and Pakistan has 9 users and 7 actives users.
I think one of the many reasons on increasing dormant account of newcomers from Bangladesh is because the Curator of Bangladesh country have not been given proper allocated time slot on curating for the user coming from Bangladesh.
Second factor is the Voting Power of @steemcurator07 exhaust fast on the time slot of 1 day as they try to curate as much as they can for Bangladesh user of 134 newcomers and not include that of existing users..

The Steemit Team have asked if the @steemcurator07, the Community Curator account for the region of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka should be increase and how about other Curator Accounts
Possible Solutions:
1.) Bangladesh Country Curation account given to Bangladesh curator I recommend 250KSP
Curator of Bangladesh Country then should gather all the users from the region of Bangladesh users in one big list and curate as in the method I have explained here Suggestion on curation method.
2.) Delegation of @steemcurator07 increase to 500KSP and all the curators of @steemcurator07 should gather all the users from the region of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan users in one big list and curate as in the method I have explained here Suggestion on curation method. Should include all the 9 Country Representatives from this region to curate, not only 7 out of 9 as of now.
3.) Just leave the delegation of 250KSP as it is and the allocation of time slot for Bangladesh users should be work out for example to 3 days instead of 2 days as of now
or
the curators of @steemcurator07 should gather all the users from the region of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan users in one big list and curate as in the method I have explained here Suggestion on curation method. They also should include all the 9 Country Representatives from this region to curate, not only 7 out of 9 as of now.
For Solution 1 and 2 to be fair all other country curators account should be increase as well.
For solution 3, no need of the increase delegation to any.
Current active users of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan & Sri Lanka
Current active users of Bangladesh: 60 users
We can vote 2 days a week with @steemcurator07. And our active member is currently a total of 60 people. If 60 people post an average of 5 posts a week, then 300 posts. And we can vote for $ 50 with @steemcurator07 in 2 days. We can only give 60 members a vote of 0.83$ at the end of the week. And these members are never satisfied with getting it. The dormant list for this is growing.

Conclusion:
I think the other country curation could be facing the same issue if they do not manage the curation well. Even if the delegation be increase to million more SP if they still practising the same method, the dormant users still be increasing.
The country curation account given by The Steemit Team/ Steemit Inc should be a complement to the effort of the community members on building the steem power of their own community curation account, not keep depending on the delegation and asking for more delegation when the users increasing from the country/the community and cashing out all the steem they getting from this community curation account which is not sustainable for the Steem token economy in the long run.

Every week, the CRs of the Indian sub-continent to come up with the consolidated list of the active users of the respective countries and publish a compilation list, somewhat similar to this post.
Then we get to know how many active users are there for the week to curate with 07 account, then fix the slot as per the Sl no. Of course, it will be arranged serially so that the CRs of the respective country get the slot one by one before proceeding to the next country.
For example Sl No 1 to 20 - CR1 from India
Sl No 20- 35- CR2 from India
-............. so on
Now we get to know tentatively how many days one will get, however, we will not fix it on the basis of days, rather on the basis of Sl No, keeping also in mind that the VP does not deplete below 85%. That way we will be able to address the existing issues. I totally agree with the underlying issue that Bangladesh having more active users and getting less time to curate with 07 account.
The only point is that each week the sheet should be updated, maybe we can do it on Sunday, Monday or any day, based on the consensus of all the CRs of the Indian sub-continent.

I think new users become dormant due to the promises they get when they hear about Steemit. When they do not get visited by a Steemcurator account they sulk instead of engaging with the community.
There has never been such a high focus on newbies in the 4 odd years i have been here. I see some do power up there earning's and grow there accounts whereas others just cash out.
We need to promote steemit as a Social network first which can lead to a crypto investment - I think we should all be encouraging 100% power up especially now we have a 4 week power down period.
Thank you for joining the discussion. Yes, agree, the people who recruit/bring in new users coming into Steemit should not promise anything such as a guarantee big votes from steemcurators as that the first cause root of the problem...
They should be using the "stimulus" from steemcurators wisely by delegating the steem power to the community of their interest so they can still get support in the long run and keep building their steem power, then only cash out when they have already strong based community steem power.
Don't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs/their SP received from the "stimulus" of steemcurators...
@kiwiscanfly you are right but Different people have different thinking , some want to grow and some want to Earn .
But all become dormant becouse of no attention and less support .
And not all people think about the growth of platform on which they are working .
But few poeple work all the time for the growth of platform .

We are keen not to encourage further 'Delegation Dependency'.
For the past 2 - 3 months we have supplied the delegations as a form of 'Economic Stimulus Package' but this will not be eternally sustainable.
To grow a vibrant Steem economy we need communities, and individuals, to build their own stake on the platform.
We will support such growth, but we will support it most where we see evidence of genuine community effort and commitment.
As someone commented on one of the posts Steem is not a Money Tree - it is a blockchain.

I totally agree with that, even I see that as a support to get off to a smooth start. So community building a must, without that retention rate won't improve and at some point, people will say that the reward is not coming so we are inactive. If we take a social platform as a social platform in its first place, there won't be any problem.
The initial momentum should prove that the vehicle is going to roll automatically on its own after 2/3 months, if that is not happening it's not a social vehicle, not going to add to this platform in the long run.

You have a little more knowledge than others. But be very proud of it. You will not have arrogance for long.

I am in favor to allocate more resources, more curation hours to the Bangladesh community as our observation is the same as what cryptokannon has indicated in her post.
It is not about arrogance, just think about the entire thing for a while from "third frame of reference" without being a part of this community. Does that look sustainable? If we earn SP and do not consolidate it, do not build it, do not support each other, then we will continue to expect the support from someone else forever, which is not sustainable.
The better option is to build a community and support each other, not to power down, except in some critical situations. The effect may not be visible in the short term, but maybe after one year you will find yourself in a better position. That is what my point is. My personal observation though.
Regarding support from Steemitblog, I think if you write good, put in some effort, you can also earn like that. In fact, the month of October is a huge opportunity for all. Not just me, many others are earning.
Regarding my personal life, I have my exam scheduled for 2021, the dates have not yet published, that is why I am investing a lot of time here, I have my other personal goal as well in the real world. So I will continue prioritizing as and when my life situations want me to address.
We are also trying to build a community in which we the three CRs are contributing 10% of our reward to create a pool to reward the newcomers from India. We have a setup in place and a lot of background work is going on.

Thanks so much for this great ideas shared about how the allocation of curation should be done among the regional instructed curators. Management of course is very paramount here as rightly said. the newcomers would be happen to be in steem if the reward manna is distribution effective so that each would have his or her share. In that case of they see little reward they would appreciate than have none. Thanks for this updates and we CRs will apply accordingly. Thanks 🙏
