Greetings everyone,

I am so happy to give you an update of how the first campus meet up organised by @campusconnectgh. Myself and @farhmade took it upon ourselves to meet up with the students at University For Development Students at Tamale who developed interest in learn about steem. I thank everyone most especially @arie.steem, @stephenkendal for his support and sponsorship for people who promote steem. I must commend the hard work and diligence of @mcsamm and @nattybongo, they are really doing great to help this cause.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IN THE MEET UP

The meet up was scheduled to start at exactly 10:00am but started at 10:30am. A total of 10 students showed up in the meet up out of which 2 were signees who already had a feel of steem. They had been on steem for sometime but they joined the meeting because they needed the education as well. I must say a big thanks to @farhmade who accompanied me so this meeting could be a success. At exactly 10:00am we were present at the location for the meet up, we met a few of the students so we waited a bit for the others to show up. It didnt take long for them all to show up. Exactly 10:30am the meeting commenced.

I started first of all by introducing myself and @farhmade to the students. After the introduction, I started off my lecture.
I will talk about how it all went through in points

• I shared with them the brief history of steem and how it works.

• All participants were guided on how to post their achievement 1 task

• All participants were taught how to use the text editor especially markdowns so their posts will be nice and attractive.

• We also lectured on participants on plagiarism and the negative effects of it on the steem plaform.

• All participants were taught how to use pictures from free copyrighted sites such as pixabay.com, pexel.com and creativecoomons.com and also how to cite sources of their pictures.

• The steem wallet was also explained especially the Steem token, Detailed explanation on SBD, Detailed explanation on Steem Power, into details to them and most importantly we encouraged them to power up and to avoid power down. I also highlighted on the rewards they could get just by voting their fellow members.

• I explained the steem reputation and how one can build it.

• Participants also expressed interest in adding steem as part of payment option in their various businesses.

• I also took participants through the various communities on steem. I helped them to join communities of their desire.

• Lastly, I talked about how to make a good post. I also advised them not to get discouraged if their post arent curated but should keep posting good content. I also spoke about they could participate in contest created by communities each week and earn something if they win those contest.

• I ended my talk and requested for questions, i must say all questions were addressed to their satisfaction.

• We also helped to provide some food, water and a drink for each participant.

I really enjoyed sharing steem education with them. Thanks to all students who made it to the meet up. I must say there was a 100% today in terms of signing up. We had a total of 8 new signees out of which 6 of the had their achievement 1 task posted in the newcommers community. My sincere gratitude to @campusconnectgh for giving the opportunity to share steem to students. I have also created a whatsapp group these newly signed members so i can track their progress on steem and ensure consistency. I am also hoping to get some Steem shirts for them so they can also use it to spread the education of steem there.
