INTRODUCTION

Hello friends, i hope everyone is doing fine. You're welcome to my homework Task on social studies which was given to us by our friend in person of @udyliciouz in @steemkidss community.

WRITE YHE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT IN REDUCING DRUG ABUSE?

Below are some of the few ways which government can reduce drug abuses in our country;

1. BREAKING DRUGS SUPPLY CHAIN

This can help make out country a harder place for organized crime groups and drug lords to operates.
To do this the government should make sure that they secure all the borders linking our country with other countries so that no one will be able to smuggle any kind of drugs into our country.

2. IMPROVING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

These will really help in reducing drug abuse, because when there is a lot of employment opportunities those jobless people who go about selling and abusing drugs will not have time to be doing it anymore, cause they will now have a legal job which is helping them feed their families.

STATE 5 GOVERNMENT POLICIES ON DRUG ABUSE?

1. Penalties and sentencing to people that violate and uses hard drugs
2. Ensuring every addicted people gets treated
3. Increasing alcohol and tobacco taxes
4. Compel drugs abuse treatment for criminal offenders
5. Making drug abuse prevention an urgent priority in every community

1. Avoiding Temptation and peer pressure
2. Choose your circle of friends carefully
3. Learn coping machanisms
4. Understanding how substance abuse develops
5. Knowing the reason behind why you abuse drugs

1. AVOIDING TEMPTATION AND PEER PRESSURE

It's very good to develop a healthy relationship and friendships by staying away/avoiding family members ir friends who pressure you to use illegal substance.
There is a saying that says "show me your friend and i will tell you who you are", which means if you continue to be with those friends and family m miners who abuses drugs alcohol, you're more likely to as well.

2. CHOOSE YOUR CIRCLE OF FRIENDS CAREFULLY

Having and keeping good friends really helps cause no one of ill pressure you into doing things you don't want to

3. LEARN COPING MACHANISMS

A lot of people abuse drugs in other to get rid of negative feelings. Learning healthy coping machanisms is a good way of Preventing abusing of drugs.
Everyone feels lonely, sad and all other negative emotions, and there is nothing wrong with feeling that way. The best way to deal with such emotions is by talking to someone (therapy), meditating etc.

4. UNDERSTANDING HOW SUBSTANCE ABUSE DEVELOP

By getting to understand and know how substance abuse develops you will avoid doing those things so that you won't get addicted to it.

5. KNOWING THE REASON BEHIND WHY YOU ABUSE DRUGS

Getting to know the reason why you are abusing drugs will help you to figure out a way to stop it.
