THE DIARY GAME:05/08/2020:A relaxed day

Today is 5th of August 2020, a Wednesday. That morning was quite normal. No travelling, no going out. It was around 7.30 🕢 when I got up for today. Just like other days I had my breakfast and got ready to start the day.

So I took my breakfast plate and sat infront of the TV to watch a movie. It was an old kid movie 👶. When I turned on TV there has been multiples of news on election.

Today is a special day in Sri Lanka because of the parliamentary electiom 2020. The aim of the election is to bring new members for the 225 seats in Sri Lankan parliment. Actually this election was planned to held on 25th of April after disolving the former government. But due to COVID-19 authorities had to ban the election. So that postponed parlimentary election was held today under strict health advices.

It was about 12.30 🕧 when the movie ended.

Then I slowly moved to the kitchen and picked up two biscuits. Not for me but for my brown 🐕. He is a good fan of biscuits, can empty a full packet of biscuits within a minute. But my grandfather do not like to give him biscuits because when he has them, he used to refuse meal. So I gave him two not giving much as he is much greedy on biscuits. Not only biscuits, but he loves cakes and buns also.

Around 1 o' clock 🕐 I had my lunch. For today I had rice with fish curry, breadfruit curry and centella. From centella we made a delicious side dish known as gotukola sambol which is flavoured with lime, onion, green chillies and salt. Centella is one of my favourite.

After lunch I had some delicious jackfruit. It is called as pani waraka in Sri Lanka. It had a very lovely taste. My grandfather cut that big jackfruit and put that small pieces into dishes. Actually now we can take them ourselves. But still he gave them us after removimg them from jackfruit as he used to do when we were kids. This food was from my homegarden. We have three jackfruit trees in our homegarden. Usually it fruits beging to ripen from May.

We have a huge mango tree in our home garden. So there we arranged some cement benches. We normally use that place for chattering in day times and having teas in evenings. It has a good shade because of that mango tree. So after having my lunch as my mother was at home this afternoon, we spent some time by chattering. Chattering was long last.

At about 5 🕔 in the afternoon we ended the chattering as my mother had to cook. She went to work tonight. So on that days she usually prepares dinner earlier. I stayed in the kitchen with the mother until she cooked. She loves us to be in the kitchen with her while she cooks.

For dinner today I had boiled gram. In my country it is called as kadala. This gram dish was flavoured with fried chilli pieces, onions and curry leaves. It smell made me hungry 😋.

I recall it was around 6.30 🕡 when we left the kitchen after preparing dinner and its cleaning.

Now it is around 7 🕖 and this is the time to write my diary today.
