THE DIARY GAME: 01/08/2020: A secret recipe for dinner

Before start my diary, at the very first I will say something about me. I am Dinoli Harsha and I am 24 years old now. I am from Sri Lanka.

Today is 1st of August 2020, a Saturdy. It is at about 7 O' clock 🕖 in the morning when I woke up.

The environment was a bit gloomy today.☔ I am late for waking up these days because I have no study works since my second year end exam is over now. Normally I woke up at five in the morning when I was at the hostel.😐 So these days I am enjoying my full freedom.

When I woke up my mother had made my bed tea. But actually my mother doesnot like to give a tea for me in the morning because she says that I have little for my breakfast if I had my bed tea. But I love to have bed tea as soon as I wake up.😋

So after I woke up I had my bed tea and went to bathroom. Then I had a shower. Friends I want to say that I have a habbit of having shower as soon as I woke up. I think it is since my childhood.

I took a shower and ate all the breakfast my mother gave me. If I donot have it all, surely she will blame me. For my breakfast I had rice with fish curry, dhal curry and sambol. Sambol is a favourite food in Sri Lankan tradition which is mainly made up of grated coconut, lime and red chillies.

After I finish my breakfast I had a visit in my home garden. There are many flowering plants which are palnted by my mother. We have blue water lily in our home garden. This is known to be the national flower in my country.

We also have vegetable plants like tomatoes, chillies, capasicum and egg plants which is called as elabatu in Sri Lanka. During that quarantine period due to COVID-19, we planted those vegetable plants.

Now egg plants are growing nicely . Since there is not much space in our home garden, we did not really expected to grow vegetables like this. But in the past as we stayed at the home, we thought of cultivating these. Now I am very happy to see that their fruits have also grown.

During the morning I and my mother watered and fertilized them. So my morning passed like that way.

After I had my lunch at about 1.30 pm. Then I had mangoes as my dessert.

Day before yesterday my aunt visited our home. She is in Matale. A city in Sri Lanka. Its climate is very calm and nice. She has a large backyard there. So she has many varieties of fruits in her home garden. These mangoes were also brought by her. There were very delicious 😋, fresh and out of chemicals. Therefore I and my brother always love to visit her😁.

So after eating, came a little drowsiness 😴. But my father says it is not good to go to bed just after having meal.

So I started reading a book. This is my favourite. I have read it since my childhood, but still I am not bored.

This is the sinhala transalation of the book named ' lasts days of pompeii' which was written by Edward Bulwer Lytton.

After finishing that book, I had a little sleep. It was about five in the afternoon when I woke up. 🕔

For today I and my brother decided to prepare something special for our dinner. But before that I have some works to do. Till then it is a secret.🤔 I cleaned and arranged shrine for my grand parents to worship.

Now the time for preparing our dinner. This is something look like noodles. But actually it is not. It is made up of string hoppers 😮. First we broke up string hoppers in to small pieces and then mixed with a pre-made mixture which contained carrot, leeks, chicken, eggs, sausages and shrimp. Actually I donot know the exact name for this dish, so you can name it as you like. This recipe was taught me by one of my aunt. However it is so delicious. So we finished cooking around 7 O' clock 🕖. Before we left the kitchen I cleaned it beacuse my mother always love to keep it very clean and nice.

Later I came to my room and sat infornt of my laptop thinking of writting my diary. But then my mother called me and asked me to come out for a while. So I stopped writting my diary and went out thinking why 🤔.

Do you have heard a flower called queen in night? We have a palnt of it in our home garden.👇

Normally they bloom in mid night and fade away before dawn. They bloomed early today. Sometime it may be due to the cold whether in these days 🤷. I did not forget to capture it also 👆.

Again around 7.30 I started to complete my rest of the diary. So this is the way how I spend my day, today.
