THE DIARY GAME : 05/08/2020 : MY 5th DIARY ENTRY

The day began like any other day. Today in the morning I got up at 8.30 am. It was little bit late and I felt sleepy because I went to bed late at last night. Just after waking up I put my phone into charge and then had my morning tea. While having tea, I saw a beautiful butterfly on our living room wall. It was a brown colored one and beautiful with its design on wings. It was a fresh start with seeing a butterfly in the morning.

Well, I swept and cleaned the home. After that I had a wash and took my breakfast. Then I ate some nelli fruits.

Today, in Sri Lanka we had the parliamentary election. So I headed to the polling station with my family members. I carried my National Identity Card and official poll card there as it was mandatory for every voter to carry them. I wore a face mask before stepping out from the home. Because election commission has announced some public health measures to conduct an infection free poll today.

Election shaped by the covid-19 pandemic as it is must wearing face masks to enter polling stations and keeping social distancing while voting. Voters were also permitted to use their own pens to mark their ballots. So I disinfected my both hands by using hand sanitizer at the entrance. Even this is not my first election, I was excited to vote.

Once I entered to the voting booth, an election officer checked my name and marked it. After that another officer applied indelible ink around my little finger and provided me the ballot paper. Then I headed to the covered cubicle and marked my preferences. After that I folded my ballot paper into four and put into the ballot box. Yeah, I voted!

I came home and had a wash. Then I had my lunch. I had a little rest by spending some time with my phone. I log into Steemit and check for notifications and any other new posts. Then scrolled through facebook and watched some videos.

In the evening I went my cousin sister's place. It was a liitle further away from our home. She made tea for us and we had a long conversation while having tea. There was cake and mashmallows for tea time.

I came back home around 6 pm. Then I had a wash. I folded my clothes and kept them in almirah. I watched news on TV. Then I had my dinner. Today my dinner was white rice with boiled egg and Pol sambol.

Before go to the bed I was here to write my diary post. It was raining outside and now the time is 10.55 pm...
