I hope you all are well. This is my first post in this community. I'm really happy about this opportunity. Today I am going to share with you some details about my country and why I love my country.
My country is Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a small and beautiful island in the Indian Ocean. My country is nicknamed the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean". It is because of its location in Sri Lanka that it has received such a nickname. My country is a very beautiful country with a good climate. There are many beautiful places in Sri Lanka in terms of natural beauty. My country also have world heritage sites.
I am very pleased that Sri Lanka has been able to attract many foreign tourists. Because almost every year many foreigners come to my country to enjoy the beauty of nature. As a Sri Lankan, I am proud of my country. And I was fortunate enough to be born in such a blessed land.
Many local and foreign tourists have visited Sri Lanka not only today but also in the past. My country has attracted many foreigners from the past. Even though my country is now known as Sri Lanka, in the past foreigners have introduced my country by various names. Among those various names are the Eastern Granary, Serendib, Thambapanni. Sri Lanka in the past was rich in spices, gold, silver, pearls and ivory. And a self-sufficient country. Sri Lankan rice and grain have been exported to other countries. That is why is called the east granary before Sri Lanka. Serendib means fertile land. My country has the more fertile land for cultivation. Sri Lanka got the name Thambapanni because of the copper color of the beautiful beaches and the idea of having a copper beach.
I have so much more to praise about my country. But the article goes on and on so I'm not going to talk about it anymore. So I'm going to talk about other things now.
Reasons to love my country 🇱🇰❤
In fact we all love our motherland so much. That is what is called patriotism. So I love Sri Lanka, my motherland, even more than my life. Because the contest needs it, I present three reasons for it.
• The wonderful gifts of nature and the wonderful climate.
Sri Lanka has many wonderful gifts of nature. The main nature's gift is the Trincomalee Port. Due to the location of this port, a large number of ships can be parked here at the same time. The Port of Trincomalee is the second largest natural harbor in the world.

And the climate in my country is very favorable. That is, not too cold and not too hot. There is always the same climate. This is a climate that everyone can tolerate. And this has to be said. Sri Lanka is a country close to the equator, so we were able to claim such a climate.
• Different landscapes.
This picture shows the beauty of Sri Lanka's coastline.
My small country was able to claim a very attractive beach as well as landscapes like rivers, streams, waterfalls and mountains. The country is surrounded by scenic seas. There are mountains and waterfalls inland. Among these places, the beautiful beach is a major tourist attraction. Beaches such as Hikkaduwa, Akurala, Mirissa, Kosgoda and Mount Lavinia are some of the popular beaches.
In this way there are different landscapes that are specific to different areas. The landscape of the interior provinces is different from that of the coastal areas.
• Friendship and unity among the people of the country.
The people in my country are very friendly and united. Every problem that comes to the country is faced by all together. And people are perfect in good qualities. People in my country have kind hearts to help each other in difficult times.
This is the most important. It is the unity and support of the people of a country that contributes to the development of a country. It is not enough to have government. The people of the country must also work together in unity.
Three things I change 🖊️
• Creating a self-sufficient economic system.
As I said above, Sri Lanka was a self-sufficient country in the past. But not now. Now almost everything is imported. Earlier, during the reign of the kings of my country, Sri Lankan rice was exported. Things are not imported from abroad. With the end of the monarchy, the self-sufficient economic pattern of my country disappeared. So if I get a chance to make a new difference in this country, the first thing I do is get people used to cultivating everything in this country like in the past. Because a self-sufficient economy really helps in the development of a country.
• Changing the existing political pattern.
The other thing I would like to change if I get the chance is to change the current political pattern in my country. Therefore, I will reduce the number of Members of Parliament from 225 to 50 and grant them only the essential portfolios. Also, the privileges of MPs and ministers will be reduced and the money spent on such things will be used for the development of the country. I will also stop admitting people over the age of 40 to Parliament.
Privileges should not belong to the Members of Parliament but to the people living in the country. A country belongs to the people who live in that country. It is the duty and responsibility of the government to work for the development of the country and to govern it without causing misery to the people of the country.
• Providing knowledge and facilities required to produce local products.
Currently, the most developed countries in the world have reached that stage by producing the required items in their own countries and exporting those products to other countries. Such a country would not prosper if everything came from abroad. Then the people in that country will not even try to innovate. My country is still a developing country. But very talented people live in my country. I think if the government provides the necessary knowledge and facilities to such talented people, many local products will be created in my country as well.
It is not a good idea to import everything since a needle from another country. Nor is it a path to progress. I really like and would love to see my country produce local products and export them to other countries. This will lead to greater development in the country. The country will also receive foreign exchange. It will also help a lot to avoid getting into debt to another country.

Hahahahaha, this is not a part you think can change, we can only wish for. Following the happening in the country, I have gotten to understand a lot about international politics. what we see our political show us is not the real game they are playing in the background.
Not just your country (Sri Lanka) my dear with high prices on the imported goods. Can you imagine the excuse my government is giving is that is due to the current situation in Europe(Russia-Ukraine). Off recent, the EU band Cameroon Fruits, so I think we have to be looking to ban EU products, which I know will never happen. LOL
I understand what you are saying. But let's see what happens next. ☺️
Self sufficiency is really important for any giving country to prosper as over dependcy on foreign countries would lead to decline in the countries economy position.
But equally but is worth noting that no country can be completely independent as no one can be an island even an island .
you are correct. No country can be completely independent but it can be a self-sufficient country. ☺️
This shows how beautiful sri lankan is, a self sufficient county but still have to be corrected, leadership, this nis challenge of almost all the country in the world, Is only God's kingdom that will give lasting solution to mankind problem.

Thank you for telling us about your country Sri Lanka.It is a very beautiful place,well endowed by nature and would definitely be a tourist attraction.I hope your country will start producing more and reduce importation so as to grow the economy.I also wish the political pattern of Sri Lanka will get the desired change.
