Test Cricket at it's Best | Stokes and McCullum Effect
England Cricket team is really changing modern-day Cricket to another level. From lifting the ODI World Cup, next into being the T20 World Champions a few weeks back, and now back to Test Cricket,
The Formats change, captains change, but champions remain unchanged. England Test team once again delivered a famous win in the first match, of 3 match Test series against Pakistan.
England started the innings by making History
England batsmen started the innings for the match, by questioning the flat track of Rawalpindi Stadium.
They just destroyed Pakistan's bowling line-up, scoring the highest Test score on the first day of 506 runs.. That's a crazy average. Only 4 times, a team has scored 500+ runs in a single day, but never on the first day.
Four batsmen scored hundreds. (Brook 153, Crawley 122, Pope 108, Duckett 107).
Crawley scoring hundred: SS from YTube
- England managed 657 runs in 101 overs, with 6.5 runs per over.
Good Fight back from Pakistan
- Anyway, the PAK batsman also got the chance to pitch very well. The openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq scored a hundred, putting 225 runs for the first wicket.

- They scored 579 runs, just 74 runs behind the target. Seems like a possible draw for the match
Brave call from the Captain Stokes
But England has other plans. On the fourth day, once again they quickly scored runs but never thought of a declaration from Stokes.
Anyway, he got a brave call, declaring for 264/7 with 343 runs target in 4 sessions.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Ollie Robinson, ENG
Pakistan batters slowly managed the innings to the final session of the fifth day with 259/5 just having 84 runs more to score.
Ollie Robinson delivered the breakthrough and Anderson and Leach did the rest.
Just remaining around 10 minutes for the day they sealed a 74-runs victory.
The winning Moment: SS from YTube
This is the highest overall runs in a Test match with a result (1981 runs).
England delivered once again as the new coach McCullum and Stokes at the start. No draws, going for Results even if they lose. Well done!
Until the next time! Enjoy!
Thank you.
Best Regards!

Hey friend, I can imagine how you feel when you wrote a blog about your passion (cricket in your case), it's something that we, as sport fans, can't stop or control sometimes. It comes with many emotions at once. In my country, cricket is not famous, I've never seen a game before, I think people in Asia are familiar with it more than football. Even if we saw some great games from Japan and South korea in this current world Cup, it was really amazing watching there way playing football. Japan won Spain and top the group, really well done. South Korea was second in the group stage against Portugal, Uruguay and Ghana..I can see that England is doing very good in both cricket and football, in its group, they top the group too.
I need to read more about cricket, it's totally new for me. Thanks for sharing this passion with us friend :)
Congratulations!
