Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 1 Week 2: Steem Kindness Contest | How Steemit Changed my Story by @fredquantum

It's another precious time to write in the ongoing Steemit Engagement Challenge again and in this piece, I will be joining the contest organized in the Steem Entrepreneurs community. And I will take you on a ride on how Steem has been so kind to me, how it has changed my story and how I have extended the resources to others.

The journey started in January 2021. At that time, it was just around one month ago since I left my previous job due to low pay and piling up duties, then I have just resolved to monetize my skills (graphics designing, digital marketing, cryptocurrency trading, and so on). And between that period, I have been designing graphics as a freelancer, generating crypto signals, training some newbies in crypto trading, and so on, I have monetized most of these things in a little way.

During the period, I have been active in several cryptocurrency platforms to keep up to date on the recent happenings in the crypto ecosystem. One of those platforms is Binance Nigeria official telegram group where crypto users relate and share with each other. On the 12th of January 2021, a user messaged me privately from the telegram group if I can help him out with a transaction, we worked around it and realized it would be so costly that we let it slide.

In the long run, I told him I can help him with the basics of spot trading in cryptocurrency and he told me he has an opportunity he can share with me provided I am interested in writing. Yes, I have some writing skills, I replied. On the same day, he told me about Steemit and I signed up on the same day. The user is mato445. And he guided me throughout my first few weeks on the platform and I am grateful for that.

In this section of the contest, I will share some of the ways that Steem has changed my life, these changes are the ones that would be treasured for life and tell the story to many, I have been sharing with a lot of people and will continue doing so. Let's take a look at some of them.

My reward settings during my first few months on Steemit was 100% power up and the incentives that I had access to easily at that time were TRX, this was the asset that I utilized to cater for my finances during those days, if you understand where I was coming from, you will know how precious those incentives were to me.

The incentives that I have received from my articles on Steemit have been utilized to get a new phone device for my blogging in my first three months on Steemit. I was able to secure a self-contained apartment after I had stayed in a single room (with a shared toilet/bathroom), for more than two years. In essence, my financial life gets better with Steem as I have been able to attend to the financial needs of my parent anytime. Steem has liberated me financially.

I have been able to learn from many great minds on Steemit and that pushed me to be involved in doing more personal development. I was a nonpracticing Agricultural Engineer, a Graphics Designer, Digital Marketer, and a Cryptocurrency Trader when I joined Steemit, earlier I have received accolades from a few friends off-chain for having some writing skills but I haven't so much trusted myself on that, joining Steemit showed me that I can actually write pretty well.

Steemit made me a blogger as I learned the concept of the Proof of Brain (PoB), as such developing original content free of any forms of plagiarism, this is something I haven't learned anywhere before. In addition, I attended the Steemit Academy as I learn more about cryptocurrency, I got better and triumphed over other students in the Season 3 of the Academy, as I ended up the Superstar in the advanced tier.

Due to my vast knowledge of cryptocurrency, I became a professor in the Academy and that gave me the chance to teach cryptocurrency professionally. In short, Steemit professionally groomed me to venture into other professions.

Through Steemit, I have been able to connect with a lot of people and I have made friends amongst these ones. These friends are the ones from both my country and abroad, I have worked with so many of them and we have developed great relationship. Thanks to Steem for giving such an avenue.

This is a section where I would be discussing some of the ways that I have been able to share the goodness that I have received from Steemit with others in the forms of recruitment and giving willingly.

In the first few weeks of joining Steemit, I invited some of my friends to join and enjoy the privilege of learning and earning. Despite many of these friends being involved in schemes that have wasted their time before, when they heard my testimony about Steemit, they didn't hesitate to join and many of them have their stories changed for the better.

In total, I have been able to invite nothing less than 15 users to Steemit, although not many of them are still active at the moment even the ones that are inactive due to work and other stuff have a good story to say about Steemit every time. For my active recruits, they have grown so well on Steemit and doing fine in many communities like the Steemit Crypto Academy, and others.

Steemit has enabled me to contribute to charity and the gospel, with my earnings from this great platform, I have been able to actively participate in contributing financially to the gospel and charity both in my church and other charity organizations. It's a great pleasure for me when there is a need to contribute and I was able to contribute my quota. I so much believe in charity as I have been of help to some families to cater for their children's education in the past and I will willing to do more. Above is the image of some of my conversations with my worship center youth president as I contribute to a project in our association and a charity provision for an orphanage that has kids from different religious backgrounds (Christianity/Islam/others). I am glad Steemit has helped me to extend helping hands to other people too.

In conclusion, within my 15 months on Steemit, I have had a great financial turnaround, and a new career path and I have been able to contribute to different projects/charities. Steemit has changed my life for good, I have brought a few people to Steemit who now have a new story to tell through Steemit and I won't stop spreading the good news about Steemit to many others. It's a great pleasure to have been able to participate in this. Thanks to the community for this topic and to the Steemit team for the initiative.
