Helpie’s Homesteading Curation Report

Sixth Edition

helpie-homesteading_01.png

Welcome to the weekly Helpie Homesteading Curation Report, where we feature some amazing content creators coming out of the Homesteading Community. Our goal is to find those individuals that are producing quality content and raise them up to help them grow. We do this by featuring them here to introduce them to all of you lovely people. We hope this helps get them seen by a larger audience, therefore getting them the recognition we think their wonderful content deserves. Then, because we think it is important to give credit where credit is due, we split this reports payout between the featured authors. We believe this is the only fair way to curate these individuals content that they have worked so hard on. We hope that if you choose to use these blogs in a post of your own, that you will join us in paying them for their content as well.</

What are we looking for?

We are looking for great content! We want to reward those individuals that are taking their time and energy to add value to the platform through their high quality content. That’s it, think quality over quantity. We will be collecting them through the week and posting our top five here each Monday.

First Things First: What is Helpie?

Helpie is a new and unique educational community within Steemit, designed to help users that are creating quality content grow on the platform. We do this through a variety of ways including;

  • Lessons designed to help users navigate the steemit network and teach them how to get the most out of it. (ex. GINAbot Tutorial, Growing Your Following On Steemit, and Markdown Challenge
  • Daily Steemit related trivia and contests
  • Mentorship from established Steemit users in all different categories
  • A place to discuss ideas, collaborate with other members, and build your personal community
  • Daily upvote from Helpie for members
  • Weekly Curation of great quality content including Helpie’s Fine Art Curation Report by @artmess, with more community curations on the way.

Helpie is an invite only community, but anyone can participate in the daily trivia questions. You are not required to upvote Helpie’s posts to participate. This initiative is not meant to be a vote for vote operation, it’s an educational tool only. If you would like to be considered to join Helpie as a minnow in training, please consider joining PALnet/MSP and participating in the community. We have scouts constantly looking for the right minnows to support, and they will reach out with a private invitation.

This Week's Featured Steemians

Can You Outsmart A Chicken? Here Go My Redneck Renovations Again By @mtnmeadowmomma

<First up this week is @mtnmeadowmomma who joined Steemit in December of last year. She describes herself as a “Wife, Twin Mom, Christian, Navy Veteran, Novice Homesteader, Quilter, and Etsy Shop Owner.” Her blog is full of fun adventures that happen on the homestead, recipes, needle works and diy tips and tricks. The thing I really enjoy about her blog is how real it is. There is no fluff or pretending, she writes honestly about her life and her family and it is a joy to read. I don’t know how many times I have read one of her posts and come across a “real life moment,” that made me laugh out loud because I could completely relate. I love her honesty, and her enchanting way of telling stories. Even more than that is her engagement in the community, through her thoughtful and encouraging comments. She is one of those individuals who clearly cares about the homesteading community and wants to lift it in any way she can.

Her featured post today is a fun look into a day in the life of a homesteader. I feel like this is a perfect example of the types of posts she writes, taking a ordinary task like adding a curtain to their chicken coop roosts, and turning it into a fun family adventure. It was a pleasure to read, and I giggled more than once. Go check it out and you will know what I mean!

Her other recent posts include ''Venison Burgers! A Favorite Recipe From The Homestead'' , A delicious recipe that includes homemade buns and ''Mommy, I like it when you teach me things like this'', a sweet look at a Mother/Daughter moment.

A Year Of Fruit: A Photo Journal Of How I Healed From Depression, PCOS, Hypothyroidism, IBS, Chronic Pain and Much More!! By @thegiftofself

Our next featured Steemian is @thegiftofself, who joined Steemit in March of this year. She writes about gardening, self care, holistic and natural healing, plus so much more. She is a trained occupational therapist who has healed herself through self care and wants to share her knowledge with all of us. She says “I’m here to offer guidance, support…to facilitate the unfolding of your inner master, beloved, soul-mate, healer and guru. Because you are…and have always been… the one you have been waiting for.” Her blog is well written and includes stunning photography through which she shows us a bit of her and her families lives. While encouraging us to look within ourselves a bit more to discover who we are and what we need. She is relatively new on the platform but has already hit the ground running, go give her blog a follow and I promise you won’t regret it.

Her featured post today is a look at the journey she took to a healthier life, which she shares with us through her gorgeous photography. She shows us her daily practice of enjoying fruit outdoors and what that did for her not just physically but mentally as well. Through just taking that time to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors each day, while nourishing our bodies with real food. She tells us how her journey begins and some of the adventures that happened along the way.

Her other recent posts include Pine Pollen, One Of The Top Superfoods For Increasing Libido, a detailed look and a beneficial element of pine trees that many consider a nuisance and End Suffering In Your Relationships With These Activating Questions, a thought provoking look at how we love ourselves and how that may affect our relationship with others around us.

An Afternoon Hike… By @Carpedimus

Now let’s take a look at @carpedimus who also joined steemit in December of last year. His blog is full of adventures, but what he is known for is his extensive knowledge in hydroponics and the amazing work he does through it. He is an excellent writer and his ability to cover a wide range of topics always draws me in. He recently became a Curator for the Minnow Support Project over in the PAL server of discord. He is helping to lift great posts focused on sustainability, and he is doing an amazing job. I believe this is something close to his heart and therefore is a perfect fit for him. He says, “Hydroponics is not just a business for me, it is also a mission… something I truly believe can help us to solve some of humanity’s most urgent problems.” That same passion flows through every single one of his posts and will keep you hooked till the end, go have a look for yourself.

His featured post today is a fun look at a recent trip he took the Stawamus Chief Provincial Park in British Columbia. This is a beautiful write up of not only their adventure but of what the experienced along the way. The photos are a blast and made me feel like I went right along with them, it was truly a wonderful read.

Hir other recent posts include The Wild Life Is Dying, a intriguing look at the rate of extinction and what may be causing it, and Hydroponics Will Save The World, and inspirational look at how hydroponics is breaking barriers in certain countries.

This concludes the sixth edition of Helpie’s Homesteading Curation Report. We hope you will go and read the featured Steamians blogs and show them the love that their hard work deserves. We believe it is important for us to lift up good content on Steemit to help further grow the platform as a whole.

We are constantly searching for good content that deserves to be in the spotlight. If you come across a Homesteading post that you believe is worthy of promotion in this weekly report, feel free to tag @llfarms in the comments or send a DM message over discord.

Thank you so much for reading and Happy Homesteading,
