Helpie’s Homesteading Curation Report

Fourteenth Edition

Welcome to the weekly Helpie Homesteading Curation Report, where we feature some amazing content creators coming out of the Homesteading Community. Our goal is to find those individuals that are producing high quality content and raise them up to help them grow. We do this by featuring them here to introduce them to all of you lovely people. We hope this helps to get them a larger audience, therefore getting them the recognition we think their wonderful content deserves. Then, because we think it is important to give credit where credit is due, we split this reports payout between the featured authors. We believe this is the only fair way to curate these individuals content that they have worked so hard on. We hope that if you choose to use these blogs in a post of your own, that you will join us in paying them for their content as well.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for great content! We want to reward those individuals that are taking their time and energy to add value to the platform through their high quality content. That’s it, think quality over quantity. We will be collecting them through the week and posting our favorites here each Monday.

First Things First: What is Helpie?

Helpie is a new and unique educational community within Steemit, designed to help users that are creating quality content grow on the platform. We do this through a variety of ways including;

Lessons designed to help users navigate the steemit network and teach them how to get the most out of it. (ex. GINAbot Tutorial, Growing Your Following On Steemit, and Markdown Challenge
Daily Steemit related trivia and contests
Mentorship from established Steemit users in all different categories
A place to discuss ideas, collaborate with other members, and build your personal community
Daily upvote from Helpie for members
Weekly Curation of great quality content. We have a Fine Arts Curation Report in addition to this Homesteading Curation, and hope to add more categories in the future.

Helpie is an invite only community, but anyone can participate in the daily trivia questions. You are not required to upvote Helpie’s posts to participate. This initiative is not meant to be a vote for vote operation; it’s an educational tool only. If you would like to be considered to join @Helpie as a minnow in training, please consider joining PALnet/MSP and participating in the community. We have scouts constantly looking for the right minnows to support, and they will reach out with a private invitation.

All featured authors will split the SPD reward of this post, because we believe it’s important to pay authors for their content they worked so hard on. Please make sure you check out their blogs as well!

Aquaphonics is something that I think could be a game changer for many homesteaders, having a close looped system that provides food for the family is vital. It’s something that we are working towards personally and I’m so glad that others are sharing just how they do it.

Hey everyone one of my biggest passions in life is Aquaponics, it is the synergy between growing fish and vegetables in a closed system. I have done many posts previously on Aquaponics. This one will be my first in ages and I plan to up the tempo again as it really is an integral part of our future survival I believe.

@craigcryptoking gives us an in-depth and educational look at a commercial system that is a wonderful read.

Take a Walk With Me to Move My Cattle

I always really enjoy when a homesteader gives us a glimpse of their day, Andy does so with a well done video taking us on a tour of her homestead and shows us how she moves her cattle. The #walkwithme tag is probably one of my favorites on steemit because it gives us a personal look at some of our favorite steemians.

The other day I went to move my cattle and thought some of you might like to see the video of my land and animals.. Also I wanted to say thanks for all the kind support and comments I got last week.

Picking Strawberries

@goldenoakfarm takes us with her on a trip to the local organic strawberry farm, where she tirelessly picked over 28lbs of strawberries! She shows us through photos the beautiful farm and tells us why it’s easier than it looks. This was a really fun read and had me dreaming of strawberry shortcake, luckily she included a recipe for just that.

We set off early Saturday morning for strawberry picking as it was to soar into the upper 80’s. I like to be done by 10AM at the latest. The picking opens at 8AM at Atlas Farms, an organic farm near us.

This concludes the fourteenth edition of Helpie’s Weekly Homesteading Curation Report. Awesome thanks so much, I have been involved with aquaponics for many years and built many systems sadly I am not longer involved in the building part for now (but give time) but am currently featuring friends and past business contemporaries units. Stay tuned for developments I have a few awesome ones in future.
