Mandatory Flu Vaccine Imposed on Pre-K Children in Connecticut, or Else No Access to School

A mandatory vaccine law is being enforced this holiday season. If parents don't get their children vaccinated, they will be prevented from going to school.

The law says they have until Monday, today I presume, to get children vaccinated for re-entry into school in the new year. WTNH News reports it as nothing alarming. It's all for the good of your children and society.

This is all to protect your children between the ages of 2 and 4. The flue is a very serious threat. About 20,000 children between the ages of 2 and 4 are hospitalized each year for severe cases of the flu, say officials.

I think this is ridiculous and a health danger to children. The authoritarian power of the state is being used to coerce a potential health risks onto children. Vaccines have risks, despite teh lack of honest conversation about this reality. Yet, parents are being bullied and strong-armed by the authorities in power to get their children vaccinated. If they dare not get their children injected an insect virus, children will be bared from attending school.

Flu vaccines often just make people sick, rather than prevent them from getting sick. And they get even more sick than they would have if they maybe, potentially, caught the flu. It's not a guarantee you will catch the flu with or without the vaccine. But the vaccine has issues itself that can make you even more ill than the flu itself.

I haven't taken another shot since one made me gravely ill 15 years ago (1st time I tried it, and never again). I don't get sick unless my partner gets sick and then I obviously can't defend against direct transmission into my body from our intimacy ;)

FluBlok, which is to be given, also has known issues with it's insect virus derived vaccine:

FluBlok contains three times as much protein as other influenza vaccines. There is always the potential for increased cross-reactive autoimmune responses in individuals who are genetically predisposed to autoimmunity and immune mediated neurological dysfunction. I am thinking of the Bell’s Palsy case in these trials that may or may not have been triggered or exacerbated by FluBlok vaccination. The relatively small numbers of individuals in these clinical trials may not reveal the rarer but very serious complications involving demyelination of the brain and autoimmune disorders that have been reported following receipt of recombinant protein vaccines such as hepatitis B and HPV vaccines, including GBS, CNS vasculitis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and multiple sclerosis.

Do you support banning children from school just because they don't get a flu shot? What about the health risks that can be far worse than simply getting the flu?
