Creative Photography: Utilising the mudane
Utilising the mundane
Sometimes the most mundane objects make great photographic subjects when cast in the right light and composition.
I discovered this dusty old phone in an abandoned brick factory whilst Urbexing (Urban exploration, basically exploring old abandoned buildings and the like, post of this coming soon).
The shot below if an HDR image (high dynamic range), to accomplish this we shoot a series of shots, the first being an underexposed image, the next giving an overexposed image and finally a regularly exposed image. Then using specialised software we can merge all three pulling highlight details from the overexposed shot, the shadows and dark areas get their detail from the darker image and finally the regular exposure is used as a base to apply the other two exposure too.
