Gardening season update. Chili peppers and chayote squash.
After the weather warmed up and it is already a hot summer here in Bulgaria, all the plants started growing very quickly. The first peppers already flowered, while the others have a great amount of buds.
I think Pepperoncino peppers like the climate here very much, because they tend to be developing almost twice as fast as the other ones. The first peppers are already formed.
Carolina reaper and the two Moruga scorpions tend to go slower, but still have a lot of buds.
The chocolate habanero tend to go slower, but even it had developed a bud or two already.
Meanwhile the basil next to the pepper plants tend to be doing a great job with keeping the bugs away from the peppers. I spotted some kind of mites one day, before even the basil came out, but after that they disappeared quickly. Thanks, basil!
Last, but not least, chayote squash...
It likes high temperatures a lot. And I give it everyday 5 liters of water. This plant wants a lot of moisture. And lately grows a lot. I put it even additional small mesh, to give it an additional support.
I’m always happy to see my plants growing. Hopefully they will do great in the remaining part of the season.

I love chayote. I have two plants this year: the smooth one and the prickly one. However, I didn't know they loved water that much. Gotta go out later and spoil them a bit :0)
At least the guy who gave this to me, told me so, about the water... and mine is prickly one. Starts to show little flowers already.
It was probably good information. We're experiencing a heatwave here at the moment, and usually, I water the plants in the morning. Today, I watered both chayotes in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening, and they looked really happy.
