The final is there, the universe's transgalactic heroes must do everything to stop Hala. Something that she actually works very easily, too easy even. How that is, you can read in the Telltale Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 5 Review!

In the last episode, the bomb broke and several members left the Guardians of the Galaxy. Who falls under that group depends entirely on your choices during the final battle. Nevertheless, the noses must be taken the same way, as Hala does not intend to stop her murderous trip in search of Peter Quill. To Star Lord, the task of reuniting the Guardians.

Too simple

The journey to reunification is also one of the most remarkable shortcomings of Telltale Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 5. In the shortest time, a large part of the team is all together and with Mantis you are looking for the other two missing members: Drax a Gamora. This happens again in a special way. Of course Mantis has special gaves and through the literal building of bridges, you track the two team members.

Despite this cool element, you soon have the feeling that something is not right. Do not Stop Believin' does not feel like final. Teltalle did something like that at Minecraft at the same time: add more episodes to give the story more power. Retrieving trust from Drax and Gamora deserves something more than two or three sentences against them. As a result, it becomes difficult to be emotionally connected to the characters.

Not fitting

Because that's what Telltale expects of you, after the last fight with Hala. The expected outcome of this struggle is of course predictable from delivery, but Hala's cry of mercy does not work at all. She has been working out of episode two to remove everything and everyone as long as she gets back to her son. Then suddenly asking for forgiveness to Quill and his team, that just does not fit the character.

Despite the change of attitude, Hala offers a fantastic final battleship. Before dealing with her, you must first sabotage the ship on which the battle will take place. It is up to you to assign a role to each Guardian. Granted, it will not be the most difficult aspect, but it will give you options to experiment and see what works. This all builds into an epic handgun between the Guardians and Hala.

Back in time

That build-up begins much earlier in the episode, as the last member's flashback deals. This is not as central as in previous episodes, such as Gamora's constant struggle against sister Nebula, or Drax who is hunting with his daughter, but moves much more into the background. Our sweet and naive tree, Big, shares his flashback.

Here we see a "younger" group of Guardians who meet in prison, like in the first movie, trying to escape. Great wishes to show to Mantis, who is not convinced of the group's friendship, that individuals can work together without constantly blaming and shouting one another.

Grandfather humor

As in Telltale, you get several options to say something like Big, but the result remains the same: you always say 'I Am Big'. Only Rocket lets you understand, making you soon ridicule your future friends without any of them.

Also a scene with Drax describing its way to Victory belongs to the highlights of 'Do not Stop Believin'. How he defeated a big opponent, as well as the explanation of how he croped from the body of the particular sample is fantastic. Drax remains Drax and does not save any details, how dirty they are at the moment.

It's only a pity that these details are missing at Do not Stop Believin'. The episode is too soon and you soon get the feeling that there is an episode missing between sections four and five. For example, a complete episode about getting Drax and Gamora was appropriate, as well as more explanation about the powers of Mantis, which suddenly became stronger without any explanation.

Conclusion

Despite a tough ending battle with Hala and that great humor, the final of Telltale Guardians of the Galaxy sets off. You get the feeling that the episode feels rushed, of course the cliff hanger at the end so a season two has already confirmed itself. Telltale must try to maintain a constant line in quality, because it's sometimes missed the shelf. Just like Do not Stop Believin. I believe, and hope especially, that Telltale in the second season of Guardians of the Galaxy can improve many of these negatives.

➕ Epic final battle
➕ Humor remains fantastic

➖ Too fast reunification
➖ Feels rushed
