Nevertheless, a self-evident expansion seemed like a definitive conclusion. In Dishonored: Death of the Outsiders, old friends tense together to make a definitive end to the person responsible for all the misery of the previous two parts. With his ink-black eyes, supernatural powers and a tendency to always appear at the right moment, the mysterious inhabitant of the afterlife finally turns.

With this clear goal in mind, Death of the Outsider feels like a dishwashing dish for Dishonored. The previous two games already knew the expertly detailed world to combine perfectly with the better murder and sneakage, but this mission seems to be the inevitable fusion of everything that makes this way of play so enjoyable.

Billie the killer

Death of the Outsider is a slightly shorter side story that connects loose ends and at the same time provides the same trusted sneak action. That all happens with the new main character Billie Lurk. As a former killer, she knows good advice with the dangerous guards, witches and sects. Billie also has a number of unique powers that keep her out of sight.

These forces make Billie feel like a different character than her predecessors. These are the subtle but far-reaching adaptations to existing forces that make it happen. For example, she can teleport by planting a shadow of herself on another point. If this skim is visible, she jumps with the button in that shape. This can have quite explosive results when it appears directly in a target and breaks the unsuspecting victim into pieces. At least so convenient and horrible is the ability to take over the face of an unconscious guardian to walk unobtrusively into a busy space.

Rat whisperer

The third force is undoubtedly the most useful. With Foresight, Billie, like a mind, can explore an area, mark enemies, and even place a teleport-shim by silencing time. It makes a new room a bit more clear because every space is first floating. In view of the fact that the number of guards and hanging sects has been properly screwed, Foresight is really called.

These forces, combined with old and new locations, provide five varied and quite extensive missions. Wholly in Dishonored's style, the assignments Billie has to accomplish here in a variety of ways. Buildings almost always have multiple entrances, and whoever takes the trouble to listen to bystanders also catches up with something useful. Billie can even get some cryptic hints out of the street streets, sending her in the direction of hidden treasure or alternative routes.

No wrong way of playing

Also in Death of the Outsider Dishonored's beauty is in the vast range of choices. The game constantly reflects on the fact that there is no wrong way of playing. Perhaps this may be quite angry with the crazy gameplay, but even when Billie is discovered, there's something about the situation. The fact that this time is not a chaos meter that keeps track of what effect your actions have in the end, seems to be a relief in a sense. Billie has cut a lot of throats in her time and therefore you have no trouble doing the same thing during this mission.

Although the layout and gameplay are largely the same, this unrivaled extension knows enough to surprise enough original ways. For example, a mission is a complex bank robbery that is successful in many ways. There is always a clear and daring option for any problem. Very often, the tight corridors are filled with guards in Death of the Outsider to really come up with a good alternative plan, but much more often, the number of possibilities is so great that each mission can be restored ten times in a different way.

Dishonored at its best

With five missions, Death of the Outsider is not as long as the previous parts, but with some clever additions, the playing time increases. After the game, for example, the game is another way to go, but with the special forces of Emily and Corvo from Dishonored 2. Another excellent addition is the contracts. These special optional missions, in which Billie provides a secret service for mysterious clients, delivers a nice pocket. By destroying characters in a particular way, or stealing unexposed valuable objects in strictly guarded environments, you'll be busy with a mission for a few hours longer.

Death of the Outsider is a successful merger of everything that made the previous parts so good. It's a pity that so much is being reused from Dishonored 2 and the game is occasionally artificially hard held by capturing every space with enemies. Even the story, despite the world of love, is still not the highlight, but it does not necessarily print the fun. Death of the Outsider is on such robust shoulders that small missions hardly put the excitement and lol of a successful sniper mission in the way.

Conclusion

Should the Dishonored franchise end with Death of the Outsider, the series ends with a small peak. With an excellent selection of special forces while sneaking and the familiar versatility in solutions to any problem, this dark self-evident expansion has been very successful. New additions like contracts are also an excellent way to extend the playing time in an alternate way.
