The MonkeePal : The soul of Spunkee Monkee?
Without the presence of the MonkeePal...
all Spunkee Monkee can offer is a rewards-based incentive system. It's a really cool Treasure Hunt - don't get me wrong, I LOVE the concept! It's why I created it - of course! But from the beginning, I wanted to offer MORE than just a game. We have enough games. I wanted this to be something that supported the connection between parent and child, and also added in a new connection: a mentor.
I mentioned a few days ago that I'd love for the Spunkee Monkee legacy to be one where children and parents look back at it as a successful tool, but also one that brings that special memory that is often associated with "favorite teachers". I can think back to my school days and there are only a handful of teachers that actually made a significant impact on my schooling. Sure they all did their job - but some went above and beyond to make it meaningful and fun. Those are the teachers that made the subject come alive. They are the role models that unlocked a bit of my creativity, opened new avenues of analysis, and stretched the scope of my vision.
