Ornament - Freewrite Poetry
Ornament
She was made of glass,
shimmering in the morning sun,
icy chill in the winter;
Her liquid center swirled like Orion on a hot summer night.
With Northern lights,
fidelity and rules that can't be penned,
she was hard, clear and unforgiving.
But when she was dropped
we watched in horrid fascination
the spider veins edging up her sides.
She was cracking up,
and rolling down.
There were none to spare.
Shattered, scattered,
she aligned.
