Robin was walking through the woods with her faithful dog Roxy carrying a basket of young pups. The night was brisk, and Robin held her hood closely over her chin as not to catch a cold. Having a cold this time of year would delay her, and she promised she would deliver these pups to her grandmother’s house.

Robin’s grandmother lived alone in the middle of the woods, so she needed a few dogs around to keep her alert of dangers and visitors. Roxy was part wolf and she had a big litter, so these few pups wouldn’t be missed, although Robin had grown fond of them while she had them in her care.

On the way to her grandmother’s home she heard a small voice asking where they were going. Robin looked all around her then she looked at Roxy who was looking keenly at the basket she carried. Robin took the blanket off the pups and then set the basket on the ground. “What did you say little one?” Robin asked.

“I asked where we are going. I don’t want to leave our home.” Robin shook her head for a second because she’d never seen a talking dog before, but she did want the little guy to know the answer. “I’m taking you to my grandmother’s home. She is going to take good care of you and your brother.”
