Sell-Out
What a sell-out, she sneered as she was watching Heinz follow the boss around and smile and act like every word he said was made from pure gold.
Yesterday, at the bar, he was singing a different tune. Talking about how ineffective the boss was, how he made so many mistakes and Heinz had to fix them all the time. How we all should complain about him to corporate because if we all were doing it, no one would get singled out and punished.
They all had agreed.
Three of them had sent off their complaint this morning. But Heinz? Oh no. He was gyrating and smiling and "yes boss" "right away, boss" all over the place.
Great!! What a weenie.
She didn't care.
All she had said in her complaint was true. She knew it, her co-workers knew it. But of course, most of them didn't sent the complaint.
Heinz had been the one calling the meeting. Let's all go to this bar - then nobody will suspect because it's a bar, not a meeting place.
As if anybody cared what the office crew was doing after work. Well, they did. Or rather did not because half of the days - when she thought about it, most days, they were asked to take home work and have it done by morning.
Time off. Work over. Those days of luxury were gone once she started working for this company.
Come to think of it. If she got fired for her complaint, Heinz might have done her a favor after all.

What an interesting prompt! Ideas are already fluttering in my head the moment I saw it. Will try to put these thoughts down into writing!
I hope you have the time!! always nice to see you!
I actually just finished it! Formatting it now then putting it up :D Awesome work with this! While my output may not be my favorite, "sell-out" is tops in terms of prompts!
lol interesting how when people do things like that, sometimes it's for the best. It's nice when you can see the upside so quickly! Great write about a familiar situation, I think everyone can relate to this...
Thank you!! I think often, we hold on to something even it is not good for us. and when it ends - we wished we would have walked away a long time ago.
And the revolutionaries by night and cowards during the day are way too common LOL
"we hold on to something even it is not good for us. and when it ends - we wished we would have walked away a long time ago." Yes! Trying my best not to do that anymore lol.
Good for you!!! It is not easy to step into the unknown but often way more fun to stay where we are - especially if we don't like it there
Absolutely <3
Nice one Marianne, glad you had time to write on this prompt. Damn sell-out. 😉
