The Little Voice - Begins to Write Fiction from the Prompt Word: Cougar!
This will be my eighth 5 minute #freewrite here in the Steemiverse. Today's writing prompt is Cougart and you can find out more here. So now, without further ado...
"She's on the prowl. You better watch out. If she catches you, you will be torn to shreds and there will be no turning back."
Matilda, laughed into her romantic novel. This was a doozy. She didn't know the writer personally, but she had now read a number of his books and she loved his very dry humour.
She turned the page. It was nighttime and this was her only companion on the long haul flight back to Europe. Actually, could she still think of it as Europe since Brexit meant ultimately that the UK was now out of Europe. A little island, once again, all on its ownsome lonesome.
Ah, she needed to reenter the book and not get pulled into her own thoughts. This was just the problem she faced on so many occasions. She got so easily distracted and then the pile of books she had to work through for her publisher just got bigger and bigger.
Okay, she thought to herself. This is the perfect time to read a couple of books and write down my thoughts. I will get back to this.
It is now or never.
Maybe it should be never. Maybe she'd had enough of reading. Maybe it was time for her to take the plunge and finally write herself.

Perfect short piece, I love the humorous romance novel bit, and the tension between what she has to do and what she wants to do (reading and writing). Agh it makes me want to do free writes again! :)
