5 Minute Freewrite Challenge Day 85 Corn

freewrite corn fitinfun.jpg

I do not eat corn. Corn is gmo in the states and I stopped eating it in 1989 for this reason. Later I learned corn is an inflammatory food anyway, so I don’t eat it for that reason either. It try everything I can not to inflame myself so corn is off my list.

Here in Bangkok, corn is everywhere out on the street. It comes steamed as you watch – or bbq’d. Either way, I want it; but I don’t get it. I'm sure is is delicious but not worth it to me at this point in life.

You can see some Bangkok corn in this video about my weekend market at MRT Sutthisan. Only on Sunday the corn is there. I like how you can see the egg lady smile at the end of this video. Thailand is the land of smiles and they are not kidding.

Some of my growing up years were in corn country. I was playing in corn fields and ate corn all summer. Later in my 30’s I spent a year working on a farm and we had corn in the huge kitchen garden there. I cooked corn in abundance and many other foods for at least 10 people for all the meals daily. Farm living needs hands and you have to feed them.

So I have my memories of corn to hold me.

My post is for the #freewrite daily challenge by @mariannewest. Freewrite is a wonderful daily challenge with lots of interesting participants, so give it a try. It is very helpful when you are new on steemit. This helpful post by @snook has lots of tips on how to do your freewrites.

Read a bit of my weight loss story and be inspired. Anyone can get healthy if I did.

good job mom! very nice read, I love your short stories.

I'm mostly short like this now. You should be too. The # of posts is more important. Comments are posts. You want many comments among many people to have good metrics here.

For contests:
Look on my feed to see what I enter then investigate the links I give in posts to see what you think.

Part Two of a two part list of contests and challenges:
https://steemit.com/steemitchallenges/@kalemandra/daily-and-weekly-contests-and-challenges-part-two-day-by-day

The reason I can have a feed like this is because my 5th tag is fitinfun. You should always remember your bxl too:

For freewrite:
Go to a 4-5 day #freewrite "prompt" post on Mariannewest's feed and read it. She is amazing. You don't need to do the prompt today since it's old. Just use this one for your research. Do a current one if you want to try. You should!

Read @snook's post Marianne mentions. Then lovebomb the comments of that post since you are there. Use maybe 1.5 votes split to a few people. Go read some links to see how others do it. Comment to people to let them know you are starting. It is a very good community.

I really want you to enter this weekly contest. This is very "you." I can't use my hands for drawing now. Maybe I should get clay :)

Don't go on discord for now. Stay out here where it matters.

It means so much to me when you like my work. Thank you, honey. Love you. Miss you.

Thanks for sharing this post @fitinfun and congratulations on winning today! GMOs have always been an area of ignorance for me. I've asked serveral friends in the food industry to explain GMOs and their prevalence in our food and even they have a tough time defining it!

Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you picked this post and glad to help you steer away for them. It is not easy in the US, but you can do it!

Thank you so much for telling Stella about me! I got a delegation!! So happy about that!

She told me on Twitter! I am so thrilled! I will do this every chance I get. You deserve support in this nuthouse. I'm so glad you have a bigger vote!

thank you!! I need to get my act together and use the other platforms at least a little bit again - but you know - only so much time in a day.
Are you twitter buddies with her?

Not really but she is on my twitlist and we often get tagged together. She is so far over my head! Did you read my comment that got her to look at you? I can't even tell what she's doing over there, but I know she's nice and was asking for good people so there you go!

You two are a perfect match. She helps in kr because she speaks and writes the lingo, so I figured you were a good bet.

Yes!! I read your comment and left you a comment on it. But Steemit is a bit wonky how the comments show up.
She really does help a lot of people!! What is kr?

kr - korea :)

Congratulations. I agree. I wish our foods could more organically grown, sadly it has become an industrialization versus daily nourishment. Essential minerals are ignored far too much. Great story, again congratulations @fitinfun!

I agree with you about the minerals. Get magnesium oil and spray it all over yourself. It's a miracle! Also iodine. I should write posts about both of these. So cheap. So helpful.

Thanks for the compliments. I really appreciate them.

Wow, thanks, very helpful. I will have to give them a shot.

Congratulations for being selected from #TKC Curation Team! :)

Thank you! Such a great way to start my steemit day :)

Congratulations for being selected from #TKC Curation Team! :)

Thank you! I'm so excited to see this today! Such a boost!

Congratulations, @fitinfun! I did not know corn was an inflammatory food so thanks!

Thank you and you're welcome! It's ok for some people. You just have to notice when you eat it. As long as it is organic :)

Great post. I love torilla chips and salsa, but I don't eat it as much I used to knowing it's GMO, but I often can't resist!

I think you would be fine down there. It's only in the states. I would eat it here if I did not need to be anti-inflammatory. You are killing it over there. Great job.

Thanks Sharon! Yes the corn down here is much better.

I'm going to hit 1,000 in the next few days. Less than 3 weeks ago I was at 750. Things are steem'n along!

May be you are right but i recommend you must eat corn this is a good food and our body need this.

As long as you are not in the US and are not sensitive to it - I agree with you. It is very tempting here in Bangkok when I see it.

Congrats for being chosen from TKC Curation Team.
