In honor of Mother's Day and for the #freewrite prompt for today, this seemed like a fitting time to write a poem about the word mother.

What is great about a #freewrite is the fact that a timer is set for five minutes and whatever comes to mind is written and left alone. This is my favorite type of writing since it is easy for me to just write was comes fast without much editing, and it comes from my heart. Enjoy!

Sweet mother dressed
in your blue cloth,
soft ivory skin,
and pink cheeks,
with
arms reaching out
for a
tender hug.
Your children
cry for their Mother
Mary
full of Grace,
pray for
us
Sinners.
Dearest mother
Bodhisattva
Avalokitesvara
hear o-u-r
cries of the
World.
May your mercy
find
and bring us
to Enlightenment.
Grandmother Moon
Iakisotha Karakwa
we send
the red willow,
fire, and
tobacco
in
honor of your
ancient
medicine.
Guide us
to your
wisdom and
bosom of
Light.
Our mothers
we honor
your power,
purpose,
and Might.
May your
children
bring
you
Honor forever
More.

After I wrote this poem there is so much that could keep coming, we have so many mother's gifted to us on Mother Earth and they all deserve a resounding applause. This is dedicated to all of them. Peace.
