Stranger at the Bar: 5 Minute Freewrite, Prompt: Spent and Tired

She was spent. Totally and utterly spent and tired. Exhausted, drained, limp... she felt like she had become one with the bed. After some extremely stressful days at work and a week of tossing and turning every night, she finally felt truly and deeply relaxed.

Of course the fact that she and her husband had finally gotten away for a weekend might have had something to do with that.

Just maybe their sexy night out last night had worked wonders on her stress levels... and his.

She had been sitting at the bar when he arrived. She was sipping a drink and trying to get away from the intrusive guy sitting beside her who wouldn't take no for an answer. It normally wouldn't have bothered her much at all, but she was tired, stressed and really looking forward to her "Mr. Right" walking through the door. Plus, this guy was stumbling drunk and reeked of cigarettes. That was a turn off at the best of times. He had just leaned over her to ask her AGAIN what her name was when she felt a shift in his demeanor. She felt a warm, rough hand touch the bare flesh on her back where her dress scooped low, just low enough to barely leave anything to the imagination. She felt a tremor go through her body.

He leaned between her and Mr. Drunken Sot and said, "Excuse me ma'am, is this man bothering you?"

She turned and almost let out an audible gasp at the fire she saw in his eyes. She was going to answer, but the drunk had already fled with the incoming competition.

He ordered her another drink and leaned in closer to whisper in her ear, "You are the sexiest woman in here, I just had to come over and buy you a drink."

She touched his hand that was resting on the bar and let her fingers trace the back of his hand, "Well, thank you, sir. You're pretty damned sexy yourself..." her hand traveled up his arm.

He took a sip of his drink and nodded to hers. She took a nice slow drink and watched him over her glass. He wasn't taking his eyes off of her and she was on fire. Her blood was thrumming in her ears and she felt her body come alive at his look as he let his eyes travel over her body, obviously appreciating what he saw.

He ran his hand lightly down her arm, "You're probably not going to believe this, but I never do this. I swear, I just can't take my eyes off of you... would you like to come up to my room? I'm staying right across the street."

The bartender gave her a look, making sure she was okay with this guy hitting on her. She smiled at him and gave a subtle nod and he turned away to help other customers. She turned to the guy standing beside her, trailing his hand up and down her arm, "You know, I do believe you, because I never do this either..." she stood up and grabbed her purse, "I decided this weekend was about taking chances, so yeah, let's go."

Their eyes met and the heat between them grew so that the people around them actually turned to see what was happening as they walked past the tables to the front door.

They couldn't keep their hands off of each other and barely made it to the hotel room before their clothes hit the floor. In spite of their lack of sleep throughout the week, it was an utterly decadent night of passion.

They had fallen asleep tangled limbs, wrapped in the sheets of the hotel bed. He'd pulled her closer and kissed her forehead as he drifted off and said, "Wow, honey, you were right. The whole role playing thing? Fantastic idea... I gotta say, though, you looked so damn hot tonight, I would have wanted you even if we hadn't already met... I love you."
