Prisons Of Our Minds (An original Poem)
We are prisoners without bars
Serving indefinite sentences
Yet we possess the keys
To the prison of our mind
We seem free and carefree
But that is only an illusion
For our limiting beliefs
Has trapped us from fulfilling our potential
Advertising have conditioned our minds
We can’t differentiate between our needs and our wants
Leading us to believe
Gucci or Hermes will buy us happiness
The religious leaders decide
What we can or cannot wear
What is appropriate for the stage
Religion has become a tool for mass control
Our politicians have lead us to believe
That they are acting in our best interest
The ideology that they spun
Will bring more votes in the next election
Break out of our comfort zone
Think for ourselves
Be bold and have courage
To break free from the prison of our minds

I do not usually resteem posts, but I just simply had to resteem this! Each stanza made me more and more excited to keep reading, and the amount of truth and awareness in this poem is amazing! I followed and will share this with people whom I know will also enjoy this!
PS: The stanza :
'We seem free and carefree
But that is only an illusion
For our limiting beliefs
Has trapped us from fulfilling our potential'
struck me the most! I've always been saying this, of course not in such a beautiful way, and I'm very happy to see that there are people like you out there who both spread the message and create beautiful art simultaneously!

yes, and as we free and improve ourselves, we gain the ability to help others, and free them from hunger, poverty and lack of education.
Yes indeed but we have to free ourselves and in the process help others where we can
