OUH LA LA !! This is the (almost) Daily Pick of Hidden Snails - edition #5

france_small46356.png

Bordel a queue de pompe a chiottes ! Because posting at 11pm PST (2am WhaleNYCTime) on Steemit is stupid, Aujourd'hui c'est le Numero 5 ! (pronounce: "Noo-may-raw seink). Now, the annoying quote of the day:

In France, cooking is a serious art form and a national sport.(Julia Child)

France is also about "l'esprit de contradiction", and I am in a putain de bad mood this evening: That is why today we won't speak about food. Period.

DISCLAIMER: No French-fries immigrated in Belgium during the realization of this newsletter.

1- Adventures in Europe Part 1

@michelle.gent

--

Post #30 for Michelle (I counted!). It realted a road trip on an epic Moto Guzzi motorcycle via France. I taste of adventure that seems to happend during the 70's and makes us want to see more next time (it's the 70's; More sex, more hair please !)

2- Exile:Victor Hugo 1954 print (collective)

@skapaneas

--

This one is for book lovers. @skapaneas shows us his copy of an old manuscrit from Victor Hugo (French writer). This book should be in a museum, but according to the author:

It shits on a shelf for the last 15 years and it will stay there as a memorable.

You now understand why the author is very careful with the document not wanting to damage it further...
More seriously now (typos excluded): This book looks like a f-king amazing piece of history!! In it are written some opinions of Hugo about the U.S.A back at this time. How he reacted about John Browns conviction (which shocked him) but mostly refers to slavery and Washington.
I definitely want to learn more about this manuscript. Epic document.

3- Steemit Science and Technology digest3

@claudiop63

--

@claudiop63 is in the short list of my favorite authors (his #introduceyourselfpost is a must read to better realize who we are speaking about). He started a series of Science and Tech digests, trying to put the light on scientific stories published on Steemit.com. In this episode, he selected 3 stories about particle physics, quantum chemistry and Graphene material.
Remark: So yes... I did actually published a list about a list... It's like Inception but in Steemit.

4- Hello! We Are STEEMSQUAD And We Are Here to Support The Minnows

@steemsquad

I want to conclude with the @steemsquad initiative: A group of nice guys decided to make Steemit a better place and created a publishing squad. The idea is to help minnows thrive in the Steemit ocean.
(Note: No image this time... way too big... YES, size matters sometimes)
@steemsquad needs followers to make this happen and to be able to effectively promote other authors.

So you want to help ? Read the post, and follow the @steemsquad account.

REVENUE SHARING:

As discussed last time, if the post would have made substantial revenues I would give 100% of the SBD to a featured author (ideally the one with the less value).
Here's the link to the previous French hidden-gems: It made 5.056 SBD out of a total of $13.45 (proof here).
The @sistersholic 's post made the least revenues, therefore they will be credited the SBD.
The irony is that they are generally very successful with their posts (hitting the $50 mark multiple times), and now have an account value of $2,272 (higher than mine by a factor of 2).
On the other hand, @patricklemarie has an estimated account value of ... $9.

Therefore, I decided to also send 10 SBD to Patrick, in order to welcome him.

Thank you for featuring the first part of my adventure. You were almost correct in thinking it was from the 70s - we travelled to France and Italy in the summer of 1981.
I'm in the process of reading the other four blogs and I'll follow you and your team.
Keep up the good work, I for one - a newbie - appreciate it! <3
