March summary of my betting projects EN+CZ

Maybe it seems little too early on March summary, but there is a break in league competitions around Europe this week, so there is not much left to play in March.

So I´m running two betting projects at the moment. One is focused purely on betting. Betting tips and predictions are outcomes of my mathematical model. It´s created around xGoals, I was writing about this metric here.

The second one is focused on Daily Fantasy Sports. I´m using the same model to predict expected match outcomes and (with use of another model) try to choose best players for my DFS squads.

How does my model work?
The outcome of my model are expected goals. These numbers are converted into propabiĺities of winning both teams and compared to bookie odds. Then I use Kelly criterion to determine value and stake of the bets.

In the end, I create a sheet with all the numbers and hope for positive outcome:-)) I´m focused on Serie A, more league competitions will come in near future. I was working on the Russia Premier League last week and some (very positive) numbers are already included in March results.

Results for March 2018
My model generated 23 bets. For purpose of this summary, let's start the month with 1000 units and adjust stakes progressively according to Kelly criterion. 13 of them was ok, 10 ko. The total stake was 777 units with 320 unit profit. It makes very nice ROI 40%.

Highest winning bet was on Verona vs Chievo with profit 129 unit. The worst bet was the silly one on Juve vs SPAL with lost of 86 units. Villians of the month are from Sampdoria Genoa. I trusted these guys twice and they lost both games with a high margin, took away 70 units.

Using my models for DFS
For DFS, I was satisfied with the results as well. I played DFS only for two weeks so far, but using my models for sqauds seems like a good idea. I´ve played 14 tourneys, finished ITM in 57% of them and won 20x of my average buy-in

Možná ván přijde předčasné psát shrnutí měsíce 22. března. Ale evropské ligové soutěže mají o nadcházejícím víkendu pauzu a v březnu už se tak toho moc nedehraje.

O tom, jak můj model funguje jsem se rozpovída ve videu, na který jsem odkazoval v minulém příspěvku. V anglické verzi jsem se trochu rozepsal, ale tady mi to přijde zbytečné, informace najdete tady.

A jak si model v březnu vedl?
Velice dobře. Pro hodnocení jsem použil imaginární startovní bankroll 1000 jednotek. Pro vklady na sázky potom progresivní systém vkladů, kdy jsou vklady určovány jako % z aktuálního bankrollu. Tenhle systém není v praxi na 100% použitelný (např. v Itálii se hraje většina zápasů ve stejném čase), ale jako vodítko pro práci s vklady by měl posloužit.

Při dodržení těchto pravidel model vygeneroval 23 sázek s průměrným kurzem 2,8 a profitem 320 jednotek při vkladu 777 jednotek. ROI je tedy za březen 40%.

Jedná se samozřejmě o malinký vzorek, ale čísla vypadají zajímavě. Model jsem testoval už na podzim (cca na 50 zápasech a výsledky byly podobné).

Model mi navíc slouží jako základ při tvorbě sestav pro DFS vrámci challenge, do které jsem se pustil ve spolupráci s webem fantasyman.cz. V rámci výzvy jsem zatím odehrál 14 turnajů a vyhrál asi 20 násobek průměrného vkladu do nich.

O práci na modelech a výstupech z nich píši pravidelně na blogu (a hodně nepravidelně i tady), takže pokud by vás zajímalo víc, doporučuji omrknout ho, případně navštívít mojí FB skupinu
