RANDOM FOOD DISCUSSION #1 - PIZZA - 5 TOPPINGS ONLY - YOU DECIDE!

Hello fellow Steemers! I'm Xyloxero and this is my first food post.

I hope to initiate some great discussions on some simple every day questions.

I enjoy hearing others thoughts on food in order to inspire me to try new things and look at eating in a different way.

Everyone loves Pizza.

If you don'f love Pizza, then you probably haven't found the right pizza. Lets discuss :)

A brief history of Pizza

The modern Pizza is believed to have been invented by Raffaele Esposito of Naples in 1889. He was commissioned to to create a pizza in honor of the visiting Queen Margherita. There were multiple styles created for her to choose from, however, the Queen strongly preferred the one that displayed the colors of the Italian flag: red (tomato), green (basil), and white (mozzarella). Supposedly, this kind of pizza was then named after the Queen as Pizza Margherita.

However the word Pizza comes from the Greek Pektos meaning solid or clotted. flatbread itself has been around for 6000 years and lower class members of society would often add tomato to flatbread to improve it. So, sorry Raffaele, you were a few thousand years late, but at least you still got the credit. :)

1. Mozzarella

3. Red Onion
4. Ground Beef
5. Mixed Peppers
