Cooking for beginners series #4: maybe the best steak you've seen so far! Check it out!

in #food7 years ago (edited)

This is for the steak and meat lovers! Enjoy!

Ingredients for serving:

  • 200-400 grams of beef steak, preferably tenderloin or strip-loin (i used this one, because it's more juicy  and tasty)
  • pinch of salt
  • some olive oil extra virgin
  • optional: herbed butter/garlic butter and some fresh herbes

What tools and materials do you need?:

  • pan
  • hotplate or a campfire
  • stove

Preparation:

Cut your meat into a thick and beautiful looking steak, use a very sharp knife or buy your steak just prepared. Temper it to room temperature, before you start frying/grilling! For that, lay the steak on a plate and let it there for about 30-90 minutes.

After this simple and first step, salt the steak like i did, on all sides of it!

Now marinate it with some good olive oil (extra virgin), or take any other oil that is capable for frying.

Next step is to heat up your pan on maximum power. After that, add your steak to it and reduce the heat to about 75% of maximum. Fry it for about 2 minutes per side. In the meantime heat up your stove to 100°C / 210°F.

Check out how tasty this sounds

Put the steak in your stove. This will take for about 5-8 Minutes if you like your steak rare. If you like it medium or even medium to well done, leave it in the there for 12-25 minutes, depending how you like your steak. I added a little bit of herbed butter on top of the steak with fresh rosemary, this makes it even more delicious :)

After 6 minutes in my stove.

It's time to enjoy this tasty steak, bon appètit!
