The Speedy Saga, Part 1: The Grill

in #food6 years ago

Look at those flames! After a week in the speedy sauce it was time to grill, which we did over mesquite charcoals.

It was both a different color and texture by the end of it, ready to be skewered and grilled.

I left a lot of the garlic on top because I honestly love garlic more than most.

It's been super hazy and cloudy here lately.

This was a combination of beef and pork so I cooked the meat until the thickest pieces tested out at 160 degrees with a thermometer. These are reportedly served with Italian bread but I ate it plain and found it great on pizza finely chopped. Our only thoughts on flavor was it was a bit on the salty side for our tastes, so I may adjust that in the future.

excellent! And here I thought y'all were a bunch of veganAddicts. Do you cook that on a high flame or slow cook down low? What about in a smoker? Can you make jerky out of the meat?

I have a pair of prize-level breeding hogs in Florida, just waiting to be relocated to our first American Agora3.

What gave you the impression I was a "veganaddict".

We cooked these on a high flame, I'm sure both have their perks.

I'm sure you could smoke it but I didn't bother save for what happened during the grilling process.

I guess Kenny was so overwhelming with his vids coming out of A'forko, and so much veganSpeak, it seemed like it was almost a religion with the crowd there. Again.. "seemed". Not Kenny, per se, but that "culture" can become very belligerent when a discussion transpires....................

No actually kenny himself doesn't even call himself a vegan although he basically is. He's a vegan chef which is a slightly different manner. And there was a presence of the vegan food at the fork but we also had a guy selling hot dogs and junk food and beer. Next year there will be a lot more options hopefully. We are not a fan of the rampant vegan religious vibe but we don't necessarily have a problem with vegans per say or vegan food.

To be clear Kenny was a huge part of the fork and a huge part of why it was awesome.

no doubt. Frankly, if it weren't for Kenny, I would have gotten the impression the event completely flatlined! Seemed to me Larken Rose and his sigOther got the thing started but during, and after I hardly got fed anything in my Steemit blog from Rose.... He became so obsessed with trashing Adam Kokesh's efforts through the LP, it appeared to me that he became myopic.

So if I am to understand correctly, anyone can step up to the plate and promote anything for next years A'Fo, correct?

My theme: HOW DO WE TURN ANARCHOFORKO INTO A 51 WEEK PER YEAR AGORA3 HAPPENING? Any suggestions on how we can put Steemit to good use for such promotion?

Anyone can do whatever they want with the fork honestly....that's the idea. of it. The idea of the fork is intended to have people stay or come back, I'm sure something more year round will develop in the future

impressions? from vids like this:

Berwick even calls y'all hippies! LOL

Berwick is not our friend and knows almost nothing about us...

hmph. I got the impression y'all were a closer knit community in Acapulco. Perhaps this explains the lack of attendance in AnarchoForko a bit. I'm groping a bit for answers, but one must begin theorizing somewhere.

...and that's because I view AnarchoForko as far more valuable than his 4 day forum which is just more talk-talk, in reality. A good gathering to build something off, but very limited as a stand-alone production. What is presented from these podiums that hasn't been heard before? Different face, same message. ...and with Anarchos, politics is basically not worth talking about; the message is clear, as is the prescription. AnarchoForko has the potential to SHOW America (and the world for that matter), what it would "be like".

Exactly. In many ways the fork is a response to the state of the community here. Communities don't exist and function well without a lot of hard work.

What do you think of "AnarchoForko All In; All 51" as a name for the quest?

That food you cook on the grill... Are you into the idea of delivering take out to the A'Fo'ers who are there in their time-share units? ...and perhaps setting up a truck or trailer from which you can sell the stuff at any A'fo event? Some homemade coleslaw and some roasted potatoes as sides... mmmmm. nice.

Cute pigs btw, I'll have some eventually.

Mom and Dad are trained... Quite a couple of characters, actually. I really can't wait to see Broze and Vibe get that first Agora3 going in Texas!!!
