Off the Hook Stout Beer on Vancouver Island

The craft of microbreweries on Vancouver Island is off the hook, I am no expert on beer nor do I drink a lot of beer, when I do I am thankful for the the passion and creativity of some of the beer presented on the taps.
For those that have not visited Victoria BC its like the new Amsterdam, lol. Lots of medicinal cannabis dispensaries and a lot of quality microbreweries, so many hopping up its difficult to keep track of or at least to try all of them if you are just visiting. Myself I live here so I just take it chill. You see a lot of the pubs here brew their own like Spinnakers and Sawns.
As the story of Hoyne Brewery, who I have heard was the brewmaster for the Canoe Club. Seriously this guy Hoyne has taken over the Island , his stout, Dark Matter (My goto Stout) its on every tap in every pub, also the Vintage Espresso Stout.

Right behind Hoyne Brewery is Driftwood Brewery, and I feel it is underrated. Around the corner is Moon Under Water Brewery with its own pub , which is superb as well. From there a five minute walk towards downtown there is Vancouver Island Brewing, and two blocks from there is Phillips Brewing and Malting. Lighthouse Brewing is maybe your starting point if your on your way downtown. So after Philips, hit Spinnakers. Most of these breweries will fill any growler for $10-$14 dollars Canadian, which is 1.89 litres about 6 beers. In between all these craft brewers are cannabis dispensaries, and that is another story.

Lets talk about the Longwood Stoutnik Imperial Stout coming at you with 7.5% from Nanaimo. This is to me off the hook and after one its take off time, you will definitely want another. My fave so far.

Did I mention they have this one too? Both so good you can't tell which one is better, the Longwood Beatnik Stout. Ummm YUUMMMMM!!

For real there are so many other breweries that I am not aware of on Vancouver Island and I don't think I will ever find them all. Its definitely a nice surprise when you find a new one , the innovation is brought on by the competitiveness. I feel the brewmasters do it for the love of the craft.
